Just returned from Lipica and spent 3 nights at the Maestoso. We went with the riding package which included room for 3 nights, 3 riding lessons with world class instructors and half board. The room is basic, clean with a large screen tv, small balconies. We didn't see an air conditioning unit, though one was not needed during our stay. I've read the reviews about the reception and can say we did not have this problem. Reception was warm and professional and all our questions were answered professionally. Half board meals were adequate, the menu was large enough, but doesn't change, after a few dinners you're left ordering the same things. The wine list was good, with local wines, just a tad expensive. The lessons were were top notch. Their discipline is strictly dressage (english style), the horses are very well trained and you may end up wanting to take one home. The Stud farm, museum, golf course tennis courts provide a lot to do. Close by are several famous caverns and castles. There wasn't one topic that really deserved 4 stars in this review, but altogether they provide a pleasant holiday. Would like to return.
