Place is beautiful, information is good but the tour is too expensive compared to what You get. No interaction with horses at all :(

“Only for children above 10 and horse lovers”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2012

Based on their website and limited knowledge about horses (in fact Lipica is the only breed I know), I was expecting much more.

I have tried to contact Lipica farm 5 days prior to our arrival to get maximum out of our stay but have not even replayed. That was a first bad sign. :-)

When we arrived we took a carriage-ride and a tour. The carriage-ride was far from any romantic dream. The carriages you can see on the pictures are not those they normally use. They use some sort of modern uncomfortable carriages. Our carriage-driver/guide was silent for whole 1/2 of an hour (There was no language barrier - we even understand little bit Slovenian).

We took a tour around the farm and to the museum Lipikum. It was also not any interesting. We could see few horses (maximum 20) and even horse worth more than EUR 1 million but it was not anything special and our small kids (4 and 2 y.o.) get bored.

Horses are nice but if you are not professional, they are just white horses. Do not expect anything else. I believe that what they do is unique and the history is also amazing but they need to find better way how to sell it to tourists.

“Home of the Lipizzaners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2012

We visited twice since my son was born. First time we took a tour and the second time I took a dressage lesson. It is an amazing place to see, the tour guides are great and speak foreign languages perfectly. The lesson itself was beyond my expectations. It is not a pony ride for tourists but a proper Vienna school style lesson. We never bothered with the show, since my son was young and would not sit still for that long. But I would advise everyone to be sure they stick around later in the afternoon to see the mares and their young return from the pastures to the barn. It is an amazing sigh that any child will remember for life.

“Lipica show very short and expensive. Not for young children”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2011

The show lasts max 30 min. And we paid 45 euros for 2 adults and a child 6 years old. We found the show quite boring for children, you only appreciate it if you are familiar with horses and you know how difficult it is to have a horse doing something precisely. Stable tour a bit more interesting but also not interesting for children below 6/8 years.

“Beautiful setting and amazing horses”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

Because we were unable to see the Lippinzanner Stallions in Vienna, we chose to visit the original breeding farm for these sorts of horses in western Slovenia. Unfortunately, we were not there on a day when there was a performance; however, the guided tour we experienced in English was very well done and the sight of so many of these lovely white horses in one place was truly awe-inspiring. The foals and mares together were even more striking because of the disparity in color (the foals are black). We learned a tremendous amount about the breeding and blood lines for these horses which are not connected with the Vienna horses now. They have there own performances as the Dancing Stallions of Lipica. We would definitely recommend this attraction for a visit, particularly for anyone interested in horses. They are truly beautiful and the site is historic. (many of the buildings are from the 17th C.)
