Went on a package holiday with Saga which was fully incllusive. The accommodation was excellent, and as for the food there was plenty of choice. Breakfast for me being the best meal, the pancakes were lovely. Most of the guests staying there were Saga, which provided a Saga lounge for Saga guests only. Reasonable wines and spirits were provided the beer locally brewed calld Union was excellent. The town or village of Kranjska Gora was lovely very quite at night with a few bars open, we were there during the end of the summer season, think the village comes to life during the winter ski season

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the Jura Alps

My husband & I have just returned from a wonderful week in Kranjska Gora. We went with saga for the first time - when we arrived I did get the impression of an old peoples home - but soon realised what fun some of these oldies are, and what interesing lives they've led.
Hotel Prisank is fine, very clean, food good, fab views, but saga could provide more variety of drinks on the all/incl - even if they are just cheaper versions - baileys etc,
Nebs the saga rep is a smashing chap, and the mountain man was great - also the other two guides on the trips were brilliant - in fact all the trips were really good. We were going to Lake Bled by bus , but decided at the last minute to go with saga - it was bril as we saw so much more - the walk up 500 steps to the waterfall was fab,
One big complaint - the entertainment in the hotel consists of a very good singer/keyboard player - just 2 nights from 7.30 - 9.30 !! I think the entertainment should be on at least 5 nights from 8 - 11 and take place in the London bar so the staff can clear the tables in the diining room and the music and dancing dont disturd people who are not interested.

Room Tip: upgrade to a magnificient mountain view room

Give this hotel a miss!

The room was filthy with hairs and dirt all over the carpet, I had to clean the toilet before I could use it as there were urine stains on the seat and under lid. The food was just mass produced rubbish. The staff were rude and unhelpful and just couldnt be bothered.

The room was unrefundable but I was happy to check out after one night and go elsewhere.

This truly is the worst hotel I have stayed in on any trip to Europe.

My wife and I are just back from a most enjoyable autumn holiday among the mountains and forests of northern Slovenia. Here the local population is pleased to preserve its truly wonderful environment and help its visitors (on which it relies) enjoy its hospitality. This hotel is warm, friendly, well appointed and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable. Food is excellent. There is a wide variety of shops in the vicinity and transport to nearby places of interest easily arranged. Although mainly a winter sports venue, with many ski-lifts, some are available throughout the year for sight seeing or even grass tobogganing. New vistas appear whenever one is out walking, and the area simply demands to be explored this way. A special holiday by a couple 70+ and 80+

We went to Kranjska Gora on a Saga holiday! The Grand Prisank is right in the middle of his small skiing and walking town - more of a village really. The hotel is comfortable, with pleasant rooms, some of which overlook the mountains - a spectaular view. There is a bar, and some separate shops at the front of the hotel. Tourist information is right next door, and a supermarket and the Post Office right across the road. There is a small museum which is worth a visit. Local walks, of different lengths and challenges, are marked out - not always as clearly as one might like. You can easily get to the point where Italy, Austria and Slovenia meet. The 'low light' was the buffet style restaurant which would benefit from less food produced more often, refreshing the food so it is warmer and of better quality

Room Tip: Pay extra if necessary to get a room with a balcony overlooking the Prisank mountain.

The Hotel itself was clean but the gentleman on reception was abrubt at best , our room was at the front of the hotel spacious and airy , although church bells ringing thro the night was annoying , dinning experience was ruined as tables too close together and too many people (groups) arriving at same time , Kranjska itself is a beautifull village with stunning views of the mountains although not many places to eat outwith the hotel . We stayed for 1 week and unfortuanetly picked the week a Harley Davidson convention was being held in Austria 100,000 bikers!!! haemoriging into north Italy and our village
They were everywhere revving up outside hotel at 6am and driving thro village all day , it was so noisy I couldnt here my partner speak when sitting at the square
So if you are looking for a tranquil lakes and mountains experience do not go 1st week Sept
We would return but in July as all events seem to close Aug 31st

Room Tip: pick room with mountain view at back of hotel

The hotel is in a perfect place for walking set in a quiet but pleasant village. On the outside, the hotel is in desperate need of some refurbishment but the inside is well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and it's worth paying a little extra for a mountain view. The downside of this, if you prefer a shower as we do, the shower over the bath is inadequately protected making the shower impossible to use without causing a massive flood. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is tasty, reasonably varied and acceptable. Distinct lack of vegetables at dinner time, although this was to some extent compensated for by a good salad bar. We had an all inclusive package which proved to be extremely good value offering a wide selection of good quality drinks. One big problem we did encounter was on three nights we had separate huge groups of teenagers staying in the hotel. They tended to go out in the evening returning to the hotel at 1, 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning making lots of noise. There was little if any apparent supervision of these groups. Some of our fellow walkers even complained of these teenagers running up and down their corridor all night.
We were taking part in a Saga walking holiday which proved to be excellent. The walks were very well led by a local guide and we enjoyed some spectacular scenery. On this holiday some of the walking was extremely challenging, but our group of 30 people managed it well.

Room Tip: If you like a bath the mountain view is worth the small extra cost.
