What a hostel, modern rooms, beautifully finished. Staff very helpful and extremly friendly. Perfect location in the heart of Bled beside the lake and in the heart of the town close to the night life. Free bike rental and laundry facilities it had everything! Check out the pub crawl - this really is the best hostel in the best location in Europe.

Stayed here for 2 nights with friends and chose hostel based on a stay 2-3 years ago when the hostel had just opened which had been brilliant.
Bled itself has lots of hostels, and there isn't a lot between them, but if location is important to you, then this is a great one, situated 5-10 minutes from the bus station (up a hill), and 15 minutes from the lake. There a few good pizzerias and restaurants very close by, and supermarket within throwing distance of the hostel.

Traveller's Haven has a good, welcoming set-up, a great common kitchen and living area, and free bike hire. The staff are fantastic, and go out of their way to help you.

The rooms are ok - not the best when compared to other hostels, but for Bled are definitely in the top half! The bunk beds are a bit creaky, but comfy enough, and each one has its own light and power point. There are no lockers for bags, although each room locks and there are safes in the rooms. We had some problems with these, which were rectified as soon as we asked. When full, the room can get pretty warm as the ventilation isn't great unless you plan ahead and have the window open all day.

Bathroom is one shared one, which doesn't seem to get as busy as you'd imagine from a headcount of guests. A common complaint is that the shower curtains don't allow you much scope for privacy if you're a bit shy, but its workable - and being able to have a hot shower in a clean bathroom at any time, is at least for me, a more important concern.

Would stay here again.

We stayed at Traveller's Haven last August for 2 nights and had a good experience. Overall, this is a very good, clean hostel, mainly catering to a younger group of travelers. I'm now 44, but still enjoying staying at hostels and other budget lodging options. (i.e. I don't like blowing my money on a room I won't be in most of the day)

First off, the location is very well situated, being about a 10 minute walk from the lake's edge, up a street lined with some shops, and affordable restaurants. The more expensive tourist stuff is farther down the road and across the lake. The castle is fairly close, but is a good sized walk or bike ride up a steep hill. The hostel itself is pretty large and roughly 3 stories? (i.e. stairs). Our room had 5 beds total (2 bunks and a single bed). Since it was the top floor, our two open windows had a nice (partial view) of the lake and a nice gentle breeze to cool off the room. A clean bathroom with two showers was a few feet from our lockable door.

The front desk reception is in a small office just opposite the main building, and is staffed (most of the daytime) with an accommodating young lady. She is somewhat friendly and quite helpful with any information you might need. There's free laundry (1 washer and dryer - tricky to start the wash cycle) and of course the free bikes. Don't expect super up-to-date bikes, but what we got ended up working fine. (kind of "creaky".)

We didn't spend much time in the kitchen or small adjoining TV / Chill area (or small outside smoking porch). This area is closed at certain times of the day for cleaning, but it looks clean and well maintained. We had dinners and lunches (and Awesome Lake Bled Cream Cake! ) at nearby restaurants. You must try the Pizza place just up the road…It's VERY good!

I gave Traveller's Haven 4 stars. I think younger traveller's might enjoy it more and have the opportunity to meet similar aged people. Overall, I would recommend this place!

ADDITIONAL TIP: There are many places to swim along the lake. As you ride your bike around the lake, many people are just lounging on grassy lakeside banks (semi nude I noticed). There's a large public swim area on the opposite end of the lake that looks good. We ended up going to a pay swim park very close to the hostel that worked great for us. The water is very refreshing. I highly recommend taking a swim if the weather permits. Enjoy Lake Bled!

kind, simple and clean, free bikes and free laundry a welcome extra, also free sheets, well equipped kitchen, free internet and wifi, cosy living room, beautiful terrace to chill out...we enjoyed our stay very much,
although our double bed room was a bit tiny, the mixed bathroom (2nd floor) with three showers squeezed in and a kindergarten-sized sink way too tiny...bathroom on the 1st floor looked a bit more spacious...but separating male and female bathrooms to provide minimum female privacy would be urgent...

One of the best hostel I've ever stayed. The kitchen is so good and clean! Internet free, television, a lot of dvd, comfortable room, perfect place near the lake and the city. The only thing that can be a little problem is the absence of different toilette for men and women, it can be embarassing. But I reccomend this hostel to everybody, to groups of friends overall.

Great hostel. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, full wifi coverage, free washing machines, convenient location. Only one complaint - the unisex showers are impractical, other than in the too small cubicle itself there is nowhere to change, it would be much better to make one shower room for women and one for men.
