We stayed at the pension for three nights in July. The pension is situated in a village near the Lake Bled. It takes fifteen minutes on foot to get to the lake. It might be a very nice country walking, but unfortunately there are many cars passing by without sidewalk.

We were allocated a room without a good view. It was on the mountain side and dark in the morning. In addition, it was on the west face and very warm in the late afternoon. Since there was no air-conditioning, we left the windows open and went to bed. At the time, we never knew we had to fight with mosquitoes. We recognized that 20 to 30 mosquitoes were in the rooms and they bit us many parts of bodies. It was in the farm and we recognized that there are many mosquitoes. Actually we could not sleep during the night. The following morning, we complained the pension of the problem. Surprisingly, the manager gave us an anti-mosquitoes electric device. We thought it should have been given to us one day before with explanation.

We were looking forward to enjoying a horse-riding. According to the pension’s website, we can enjoy it with some payment. We asked them to arrange the horse-riding. However, we recognized later that only one horse was arranged and only my daughter could enjoy it. Surprisingly, it was free. It should be informed before.

We booked the room by internet. They asked us the credit card number for deposit. I thought credit cards will be accepted, but they will not accept any credit card for payment. I must go to a bank at the lakeside to take enough cash. Since the cash for three nights is not small, they should inform us in reservation.

Meals are not bad, but too creamy for us. They provided us an adult meal for five year old girl without explanation and charge us the same amount as do to an adult. The next day, I asked to reduce the number of plates, and they are unfriendly accepted it.

If clients stayed there more than three nights, there is a discount. However, room cleaning is done every other day. It was again not explained. The second day, I asked them to replace towels since we took showers several times a day in a hot weather. They firmly denied providing new towels because room cleaning is not carried out every day. Fees for longer stay are discounted with poor services. It is actually not a discount.

Finally, they showed us a newspaper article that famous Japanese chefs visited the farm. Unfortunately, we never know the names of chefs and I recognize that they are capable of appealing their pensions and farms.

We stayed on the farm for 4 nights in early May , the sun shone and we fell in love with the place. Our room had a huge balcony on two sides with the most fantastic view imaginable. In addition to the bed there was a very spacious living area with a sofabed in it. Much to our surprise the TV had a better choice of channels that you find in many hotels. We'd taken a travel kettle and while a llittle fridge in the room would have been nice we managed fine and Mrs Mulej was happy enough to store an open bottle of wine we had overnight in the kitchen fridge. The breafasts are divine - Ok the choice is not huge but its all homemade down to the apple juice. Bread, butter, jams and yoghurt has never tasted so good and meats and cheese were also available.
If you like animals then Dara the dog and a couple of cats were usually around to be stroked and petted, and we were able to wonder into the cowshed at any time to see the hens, rabbits and calves. Its maybe a a 15 min walk to the lake, a bit longer to Bled centre. My friend is not so mobile and we were without a car so got a taxi mostly - for 10 euros which seemed to be the minimum fare.
There is a 10 minute walk down to the river Sava that we enojyed and another nice one up the hill past some colourful beedhives and along a footpath to the other end of Sel village.
All in all we were so pleased we came here and want to see what it looks like in Autumn and/or winter

After reading all the reviews and doing extensive research, we decided to stay at Mulej Tourist Farm for three nights over Christmas. This place did not disappoint. Our room was spacious, meticulously clean and practically brand new. There was a living area with a couch and TV. Overall, it was excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast was divine - we gorged ourselves every day on delicious home-made prosciutto, butter, berry jam, and the most wonderful freshly baked bread.

The house is beautiful, and there are horses and cats and a wonderful dog hanging around. It is truly a farm, and the view from our window and balcony was gorgeous.

The village of Selo is very cute, and the house is literally only a 5-10 minute walk to Lake Bled. The walk is quite beautiful and truly a pleasure.

The only real disappointment was our Christmas dinner. We asked for half board on Christmas day, thinking that we might have a hard time getting a dinner reservation at a restaurant. They promised us that Christmas dinner would be a "better" meal than usual. In fact, it was pretty awful: bland, oily soup (noodles in oily water); boiled potatoes and extremely bland, boiled beef. We were really glad that we didn't sign up for half board on any of the other days.

I even heard another guest telling the owner, "My husband does not want any soup tonight, please." When we saw the soup, we could see why. Apparently it is the same soup every night.

They only positive thing we can say about that dinner is that it was reasonably priced (8 Euro per person). Of course, the price did not include drinks. If you are on a severe budget, half-board is an option. But frankly, for the same price, you can have a wonderful meal in the little Osterija restaurant in the town of Bled. The meal we ate at the Tourist Farm was worth far less than 8 Euro.

We highly recommend this place (just not their dinner!).

We spent 3 nights here in August 2008 with our 2 children. Our room was a duplex apartment which had comfortable beds, a good bathroom and a fabulous kitchen and dining area. The views from the window were exceptional and the relaxed atmosphere will add years to your life.

We did not have a car and so walked to Lake Bled and Bled village. The walk is a little further than the estimate provided by the Tourist Farm but it was especially beautiful and peaceful. Everything we wanted to do was around Bled and the lake and so the absence of a car did us and the environment some good.

At the end of a full day's activities we did not venture back into Bled in the evening and so ate Mrs Mulej's delicious homemade food at the Farm. The children were a little concerned about the food but their fears were soon allayed and they tucked into the simple but delicious food with relish. Our next stops were Salzburg and Munich and the unbelievable value of the food at the Farm left a few more Euros for these expensive cities. Breakfast was also a joy and a great way to start the day.

We had booked a very busy day of excursions with Spin Travel. They arrived at the Farm at the precise time we agreed and drove us to the caves at Skocjan, followed by a light aircraft trip around the Slovenian coast, saltpans and vineyards and our day ended at the Lipica Stud Farm to see the Lipizzaner white horses. We also used Spin Travel to take us to Salzburg and again their service was exceptional.

During our time at Bled we went swimming in the lake (best area is public bathing area near the Zaka Cafe which is near the road to the Farm), took a pletna boat to the island (go early before the tour buses arrive), burnt the calories with the steep walk to the castle (the views are just stunning and worth the sweat), enjoyed the local speciality cake at Grand Hotel Toplice (a beer on the terrace over looking the lake is a great way to enjoy life) and played mini-golf in Bled (if you have a competitive 11-year old be prepared for defeat and several rounds at least).

We all loved the experience of staying on the Farm The people were very friendly, the views were great, it is so quiet and it was fantastic value for money.

We typically stay in B&B/pension accommodations and this one is now one of my favorites. We stayed in the new house (they also rent rooms in their old house a short distance away). The rooms were large and modern, with a bathroom and a small balcony. The owners are very nice and clearly took great pains to make this a pleasant place to stay. The value is really hard to beat, at 25 euro per person including breakfast. It is about a twenty minute walk into Bled town and about a 5-10 minute walk to the lake, but with the difficulty in parking a car in and around Bled, your really best to walk. With advance notice, you can have dinner here as well. Please consider staying here if in the Bled area. It really is a lovely place.

At 50 euros/night, breakfast included, this place is a bargain, especially when compared with other types of accommodation in Bled proper. We normally stay with the Berc family in Bled, and that is for us THE place to stay in Bled, but this time around they were fully booked, so we decided to try a different place, somewhat removed from the bustle of Bled, and we weren't disappointed.

The village Selo, where Mulej Farm is situated, is a couple of chilometers outside of Bled, which you come to appreciate particularly at night, when the village is cloaked in darkness and completely quiet. We slept like babies in new, clean and simply appointed rooms with a balcony on the second floor, which afforded a nice view of the surrounding hills and countryside. We were glad we had wheels, though, because it was chilly and muddy from recent rain, and the road leading from the village to the lake was closed for repairs, so walking to town was not really an enticing option. The lakeshore is not distant, but getting to the town centre would take approx. 30 minutes.

Breakfast was no big deal, standard fare of good quality. I noticed many reviews here which waxed poetic on the home-made, organic food served at Mulej, but we didn't notice much of it at breakfast. As we only stayed one night, we didn't opt for half-board, and so couldn't sample any other food at dinner; we cannot therefore pronounce any judgement on the quality of meals served at Mulej. Once again, breakfast was average.

The owners are very kind and forthcoming people, communicative and ready to help. All in all, we would recommend staying at Mulej Farm because it offers good service at a bargain price.

Situated about a twenty minute walk from the town of Bled, a little closer to the lake, this accommodation is excellent in all respects.

The modern guesthouse has large comfortable rooms with beautiful views. The family owners are both friendly and helpful - offering useful advice about the local area.

The food is plentiful and excellent. High quality ingredients nearly all from their own farm. Nothing fancy, but all the better for that.

The area is beautiful - Lake Bohinj in particular is completely unspoilt. Ideal walking country.

My wife and I rarely return to places that we have visited. However I will be disappointed if we do not return to Mulej.
