This is a very convenient hotel to stay for access to walking around the lake and taking a boat trip to the Island to visit the Church and other outdoor activities. Our room was clean and larger than most for two people. A pity the weather didn't co-operate!

Good location, close to the lake, great view if you ask for a lake-view room with balcony. Breakfast buffet is decent. Pool is top-notch, spacious with slide and outdoor area for relaxing and enjoying the view. Do plan some time to enjoy it. Hotel has bike rentals if you like to bike around the lake.

This hotel has an industrial exterior, but is very nice inside. Rooms are large, staff is great, breakfast buffet is fantastic. The indoor pools and spa are very nice. It was very warm in Bled, but the AC was not yet on in our room. The main floor and restaurant was air conditioned.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view, if that is what you want. Ours was out the back, above the parking area, and it...

We stayed here for a week recently. We had asked for a lake view with balcony and high floor and this is what we got. The 5th floor was the highest, and with its elevated position had wonderful views of the lake, island and castle. The rooms were large and really clean, and the food (we were half board) was excellent, with so much choice. It was a buffett for breakfast and dinner. From the lakeside to the front of the hotel is 161 steps, or a longish walk up a steady slope, so not for those who cannot walk very well. Also Friday and Saturday nights it was very noisy with music blaring from a bar on the lakeside until 4.30 in the morning. When we were there at the end of June it was very hot, so to blot out the noise, you had to close the balcony doors and literally melt away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We went with Crystal Holidays, so booked a few trips with them, the best being The Julian Alps, A Taste of Slovenia and Ljubijana.

Room Tip: Always ask for high floor and lake view although if you want a/c I think you have to be at the side...

We stayed here for 4 nights recently and overall enjoyed our stay. The pool area was excellent and very well organised with lockers/ showers/ towels etc and had great views over the lake. Breakfast had lots of choice and again lovely lake views. We were surprised by the lack of air conditioning in our room so be warned to ask for it if it's important to you. Finally parking was often difficult to find as there are several hotels using one car park. Overall we would recommend the Lake Bled area and would stay in the Hotel Golf again.

This hotel probably comes between average and very good. We stayed on a third floor room with a balcony at the back, overlooking the lake and it must be said that the views are fantastic. You can see all around the lakeside to the old town; the castle, Sv Martin's Church opposite, and even the Island of Otok with the Julian Alps and the Karavanke mountains in the background.

The room itself was large enough with a sofa and desk and a very comfortable king-sized bed and free wi-fi.

The only citicism I have of the room is that it did not have air-con and whilst we stayed it was very hot. It was also very noisy at night from a bar below somewhere on the lakeside - often until 3 a.m - so we had two options - open the balcony doors to allow some air in (and midges, which fortunately do not appear to bite) or close the door to shut out the noise and quickly bake! My advice is to take some good ear-plugs.

As previously mentioned getting to the lakeside, and town is by lots of steps or pathways which are hilly, so not for people with limited mobility - also our room had a shower over the bath, which was quite deep, again could be difficult to step into and out of.

Breakfast is typical chain hotel food - lots of it, but nothing very interesting, and most was quite tasteless, not even decent coffee or juice! We found ourselves heading out for a decent coffee and a Bled cake instead! And we were not amused when returning from dinner out and deciding we'd like a nightcap at the bar to be told by a member of staff "bar is closed" - it was 10:45 p.m. and according to the information the bar should be open until 11:00 p.m.

A hotel in a lovely location which could do better.

I stayed here 7 years ago and nothing has changed much since. The bedroom we had was located at the front of the hotel and was quite noisy as coach tours leave early in the morning and it's always busy. The bedroom is a bit dated but comfortable, the bathroom is a bit cramped and the shower temps fluctuate a lot.

It was very hot when we stayed and it was a disappointment that the air conditioning unit in the room didn't work. Nor could we leave the door open as there were a lot of flying insects and as I mentioned the coach tours seem to have early starts.

The Spa and pool are the saving grace of this hotel and they are fabulous. The staff are very nice and I found the breakfasts were very good quality.

Climbing all those steps to get from the Lake to the hotel might be difficult for some people although there are paths on either side of the hotel if this is a problem.

Overall a nice hotel and the Wellness centre is what hauls it out of the 3 star category.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at the front of the hotel and check to see if the air-con is working!
