Our 2nd time back in 14 months and again enjoyed our time at Hotel Toplice. Fantastic view over lake Bled, Grad and church and so close to town and tourist attractions.
Yes the hotel needs a bit of an upgrade in some areas but the location and serenity in a lake view balcony room is worth it for me.

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting lake bled. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great setting on the lake. Really nice breakfast. Would have given it 5 stars but the rooms do need upgrading. For instance the shower was poor and leaked over the floor.

Hotel is a bit faded. It must have been grand in the past. We had a great check in experience with Klemen. However I have found that the rest of the staff are quite unfriendly. The woman in the pool room needs to be able to communicate effectively with the multi national hotel guests. We wanted to take a look at the pool area but Grutta the pool lady said no. We needed to don our swimming costumes. When I complained to the staff at the front desk, I was told that I can look at the pool thru the glass doors. I know they are doing their jobs but it seems to me that the staff could use a bit of in service training on the proper way to communicate with guess.

Room tip: Best views are on fifth floor

In relation to the comment we apologize for the situation and the discomfort this might have caused you, as we strive to make every guests feel as welcome as possible we take your comment very seriously. However, we would like to emphasis, that the hotel has to obey certain laws in regard to swimming pool areas and hygiene standards, and in this case Greta complied with the hotel rules and hygiene standards. Here we have to adhere to the rules to enter the wellness area only in clothes and footwear that are suitable. This reduces the possibility of contamination on the floor and consequently in the water, since the water in our pool is untreated as it is replaced daily from a fresh spring underneath the hotel. At the same time, we would like to apologize if there may have been a misunderstanding with Greta due to the language barrier and that the reception staff didn’t fully understand the situation. In accordance with the company guidelines for providing the highest quality to our guests, our employees are regularly trained and educated to achieve the highest standard in the provision of services and communication with all guests, regardless of nationality. We would like to emphasize that the situation does not reflect the face of the hotel and that we want everyone to experience the Grand Hotel Toplice in the most beautiful light possible and would be happy if you decided to come and visit us again in the future.

The service, location, amenities, and views were unbeatable. There’s an old world elegance. However, the rooms are a bit tired. So know that you are paying for the view, service, amenities and location. I ordered room service an enjoyed first class dining on my balcony overlooking Lake Bled and the castle.

There’s not much to say about Grand Hotel Toplice other than it was alright?

The location is beautiful, right on the lake. And if you’ve got the weather for it, the sun deck is a great place to spend an afternoon. Free boat rental is a lovely added extra.

But? The rooms are dated and resemble something from The Shining, while the service we received was average at best.
The ambience was lacklustre in a way that the views could barely save.
