B & B Pension Mlinar Bled

This is such a lovely B and B, family run and the owners are very good, honest people. For our whole trip in Slovenia we felt like you never get ripped off as a tourist for anything. For the price, you really couldnt get better service. We had a lovely double room with a bathroom and it was such good value. Clean, quiet and lovely mountainous views. Nice showers as well, better than our one at home! Breakfast is really good and filling, you can fill up on that if you are travelling.

I would say DON'T go to Bled in April or May - everything is shut because it is a seasonal town. We booked to stay 6 nights in this B and B for the easter hols in April and although Bled is lovely, you really don't need to visit for more than one day. We would have been bored out of our brains except we found an amazing ski resort about a 40 minute bus journey away where you could go skiing for very cheap as it was off season, so that saved the trip for us as we went every day and only spent one day in Bled, which was enough for us!!

However, even though we did stay 6 nights the B and B is very comfortable and I would highly highly reccomend.

Bojan even took us to the airport on our way home. (For 20 Euros though!) Same price as the shuttle, but better because we didnt have to wait around.

If you are staying for a long time bear in mind you don't get your room cleaned, and the other downside is that the duvets are way too short and thin!

We stayed four nights at same accommodation. We were pleased with location of Mlinar B&B,situated in very peaceful area which was close to local amenities. Room was small and from beginning wasn’t heated enough but last two days was OK.
Breakfast was plain ,always same choice. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely few days in Bled and really enjoyed this b&b. I think the owner really made this stay standout for us, he is quite a funny guy, he runs it on behalf of his mother who owns the place but her english isnt very good but wasnt a problem as he is there the majority of the time. The room was lovely, just what we needed. Only minor point was that the wifi in the room was intermittent. Breakfast was a great start to the day. Its located in a nice quiet area and is just a 10min walk into town.

We arrived late in the evening and the owner, Bojan, very kindly picked us up from the train station. He then showed us where we can have a good dinner and also offered to pick us up after our meal. Bojan is very helpful and really went out of his way to help us book our car and excursions. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast always fresh. The Pension Mlinar is situated in a very quiet area just a short walk from the lovely Lake!! I suggest a torch if you are walking back in the dark. Computer is available for guests which is very convenient. Bojan is kind and generous and very accomodation. He drove us all the way back to the airport at the end of our stay. I highly recomend B & B Pension Mlinar Bled and would love to visit again some time in the future. Your

The pension is about 10 minutes walk from the lake, so you can't hear the sounds of the city which is good. There is grocery shop close to Mlinar, so you can buy whatever you need.

Owner Bojan is very friendly and nice, we talked and laughed together and he told good places to see and eat. He really cares that you have a great vacation here.
He makes good breakfast, where you have coffee, bread, yoghurt, etc.. He was going to vacation at our last day and I will remember him forever "Ask anything now because I will disappear!" Ha!

Great place and I would recommend this to anyone.

The b&b is located in a picturesque, unspoiled area right next to an orchard, which is beautiful. It's only a short walk to the lake, a supermarket and all other amenities. The room has a balcony, a mini-fridge and wifi access which are all great. Upon arriving we were told there is a computer in the landing to access the internet (which there is) however, if you have a laptop with you just search for networks as Mlinar doesn't require a password to access the wifi. The value for the b&b is absolutely excellent considering the location and the beauty of Bled itself. Only 2 downsides. The lack of any form of A/C as Bled is very warm both day and night during the Summer months, and we stayed for 4 nights but didn't have our towels or sheets changed once.

We stayed there for 3 nights and it was a lovely stay.

It was slightly confusing when we were trying to get to Bled on a bus from Ljubljana. So a few things:

1. Make sure you get off at the Union Bus Station (which is NOT the terminal station in Bled). The bus drivers are not really helpful and/or patient to let you off so make sure you keep an eye on the bus station.

2. The direction given from the website was helpful but doesn't really take you step by step there.
Direction from the website - 'Upon arriving at Bled, follow the RIBNO road sign, but in the very cross-road turn immediately to the right. Then follow the banner"PENSION MLINAR." as long as you see the house.'
Our experience - Do follow the RIBNO sign which will lead you into the street Levstikova ulica (check the road sign too to make sure you are on the right track). Once on the street, keep left - now there will be one small crossroad pretty soon which is not where you want to turn. Go a bit further until you see a bigger crossroad and by then you should see the signs of various apartments - 'Pension Mlinar' is indicated there. The precise street number is #12.

The place itself is totally homey and nice - Bojan is a wonderful and helpful chap and his wife is shy but very sweet. We didn't get a balcony room as we requested a room with two twin beds but it was still really nice. We got omelets for breakfast one morning which is a really nice touch. Other days are fine too with scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, bread and yoghurt.

The lake was a short walk of 10 minutes. Absolutely gorgeous view, needless to say.

Definitely will recommend this to anyone who is going to Lake Bled and looking for good and more budget-friendly accommodation.
