A very nice concept of both a restaurant and coffee shop under the same roof. The restaurant is open serving lunch at day time and dinner in the evening.
Overall a good choice of dishes from the international cuisine.
Not hungry – order a coffee and a cake.

“Charming and peaceful taste of Old Warsaw”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

The menu presented both traditional and updated Polish and international dishes. The staff were helpful and courteous - and between my bits of Polish, Czech, Russian and German and their knowledge of some English - we communicated just fine.
The only mystery was why on the first visit, they wouldn't take a credit card, but on the second visit there was no problem!!! Was it the whim of the waiter? For that they lose a star.
The other thing I liked was the unhurried feeling of being among family. Clearly there were local people there for the cafe and pastries, as well as a young family with a baby. And one or two other people like me. I did not feel that this was a tourist place at all.
I'd love to go back again.

“Great find on snowy evening”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Close to our hotel, about 200 yards from Polonia Palace. Geat decor; young enthusiastic staff, some with limited English. Limited menu but excellent quality food at a good price. Service good. Shame it wasn't more patronised on the evening we visited but we did pay a return visit. Can go just for a drink or coffee and outstanding cakes. Deserves to succeed

“great herring”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

First night arriving in Poland, we had herring at Smaki and it was absolutely wonderful. Cold beer, herring with three sauces, then pierogis.
Eat outside if the weather is good.
Service was terrific.

“Very nice and tasty food”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

We went to Smaki as it was suggested by our hotel. It's refined Polish food I would say. I had the best pirogi I ever had in Poland, with duch filling and mushroom mousse, not mouse as it said in the menu :-). The main courses were large portions of very well cooked food, everyone in our group were very happy with what they choose. The desserts are gorgeous, try the marengue with whipped cream and raspberry, jummy. Not too expensive so worth the money. I would rtecommend it and I will go back when back in Warsaw next time.
