Excellent and highly recommended in every way! Mark was hired by the hotel concierge on short notice to drive me the hour-plus from Warsaw to Treblinka first thing on a Saturday morning. His price was more than reasonable. We had a very nice ride in both directions, friendly and professional: clean comfortable car, safe driving, knowledgable, etc. Mark's English is excellent and so is his Spotify playlist. We had a lovely conversation. He is a guide, too, and although I know enough about Treblinka to only need him to drive me, he shared information about Poland, the region, history, and some facts about the camp I was not aware of. After a remarkable two hours on my own, when I was the only (living) person at the memorial, Mark and I drove back to Warsaw. I was quiet for a while, absorbing the experience, which Mark respected, until I felt up for talking again. Mark made it possible for me to have a unique, important, and deeply meaningful visit to a terrible yet, on that spring morning, beautiful place.
Although I did not take up a guided trip with Marek I feel it important to share my experience of the hotel transfer that Marek provided.
I booked Warsawtaxi from Modlin to Warsaw (return trip) as a hotel transfer.
Marek replied speedily and the communication was excellent. Marek was waiting for me at the airport and provided excellent conversation on route to the hotel and offered fantastic independent recommendations of trips and restaurants in and around Warsaw.
Mariusz was our driver for the return leg and was at the hotel waiting for us at the agreed time. Mariusz provided fantastic conversation on the journey back to Modlin (traffic was bad so the conversation was extra welcome!) and he was a pleasure to talk to.
Happily award 5 stars and would use again without any hesitation.
Thank you Gents!
Not many tour companies visit this lesser known death camp which is not easily accessible by public transportation. I was therefore happy to find One Day in Poland’s Tour.
Shortly after booking Marek was in touch to confirm my booking and picked me up at my hotel bang on the dot.
As other reviewers have noted, Marek is a pleasure to talk to and knows s lot about Polish snd WW2 history. I gained several fresh insights from him. He is also interested in making sure his guests get good tips on what to see in his country.
I happily add another five star to Marek’s roster.
We coordinated with Marek for over a year to plan our exploration and experience of the Warsaw City Tour, Treblinka and the Wolf's Lair. Marek was always responsive and provided a once-in-life experience. I highly recommend Marek!
Extremely comfortable car; very pleasant, knowledgeable guide, made sure we saw everything we wanted to see. Marek went above and beyond the normal call of duty. For example, as part of the In the Footsteps of John Paul II tour, it was important to us to visit the grave of his parents. Marek very patiently made this a reality as we went off the beaten path to locate their grave.
We would definitely use One Day in Poland again!
While staying in Warsaw, we wanted to see several particular things in Lublin and Kazimierz Dolny. Marek was very flexible and tailored the trip to suit us while giving us advice on a few other things we should not miss. It was a full and enjoyable day. Marek has an extensive knowledge of Polish history and culture and is an entertaining companion.
Thank you very much for your opinion. Also for me it was fantastic time :) Marek
