Interesting museum, well put together. We did the audio guide and it helped explain what you were looking at better. Worth a visit!

A really nice and cheap experience.
You can learn a lot from this museum.
Pros
Cheap we payed 28 zl for 2 people (we are student's) the full price is around 20 zl per person
The audio guide is very handy and informative.
It's a small museum and you can see all the exhibits 'fast' or if you use audio guide it will take max 1 hour and less depends how much you will stay at the cinema .
The exhibits were in good shape .
Con
They were doing some constructions the day we went so it was a lot noisy so we couldn't hear the audio guide .

In general I read some comments saying that the museum was free on Thursdays but it wasn't, the audio guides were free that day .

A must visit when you come to Warsaw. To see how people lived 30-40 years ago in communist Poland will surprise you. I can recommend this place.

I visited this little gem of a museum and loved it.
I had found it online before traveling to Poland. It was on my list of "must-see" sites for a free day in Warsaw.
It is within walking distance of the Polish Army Museum, another good place to visit.
The museum has options for an audio tour and even a tour guide. Check online for these services. I did not take advantage of either. The exhibits are in Polish and English. I did happen to overhear a tour guide talking with a group. She was sharing her personal experiences living under communism. It made me think that I should have arranged for a guide. I feel the museum was very accurate in its portrayal because she remarked how one exhibit was "just like what I had at home!"
The displays give an honest look at life, good and bad. There is a sense of nostalgia, not for the times, but for the shared experiences of those who lived through it.
I am very glad I visited this. The exhibits are curated nicely and the items on display are really in good shape. I think the people who created this museum did an excellent job!

If you remember Communism then this little museum is a trip down memory lane. My favorite item was a water dispensing machine. I remember seeing them in Moscow in 1977 and how I was appalled at how everyone used the communal glass. There are lots of other fun items in their collection to bring back memories. And the lady at the ticket desk was very nice and helpful.
