I thought it will be a cool place with old and original houses but not really, just and old and not the safest area. There were some really cool houses, but only a few, so I didn't know what should I see and visit. There were peple who lived in the old buildings and didn't look like friendly so I couldn't spend much time here. Furthermore, not so close to the center, in my opinion you can skip it, you don't loose anything.

We went by the metro, and had a long walk around the streets of Praga. We visited a gipsy marked, a kebab cafe and a cathedral. IT was an interesting visit with old and new and newly renovated buildings side by side.

We visited this hole during the day. The atmosphere was awkward, dangerous and uncomfortable. I am not the type of person easily scared, but I know a bad area when I see one as I grown up in a very dodgy part of Sydney.
We wanted to visit due to its reputation of being up and coming, arty and cool. We were disappointed.
Praga offers tourists a bit of reality I guess. It offers a sense of honesty that maybe not everything is going well and its not all polished and shiny like the Nowy Swait. I don't care though as I had wasted a very hot day travelling to a dodgy slum in search of gold and returning empty handed.
If you want to see Warsaw do what I did. Go to a bar on Nowy Swait at around 12am, close to the Palm tree roundabout, meet some locals and they will definitely show you the town.

Went to Praga on the last day of our trip in Warsaw. Went on the route suggested in our information guide. Visited the cathedral, the Market,70s pub, Russian Orhodox church and sets for The Pianist . Really enjoyed and felt at ease. Life here during the DAY goes on as normal. Definitely added extra to our Warsaw trip

I went on a Sunday. Nothing really going on but I went to see some of the purported fine pre war architecture. To be honest my experience was nothing more than a working class and in places very run down neighbourhood. It's close proximity to the old town and good links to Centrum mean this area has potential. This is years away though !!!

I wouldn't have missed out on anything had I not have visited.

The romanticised notions of this place are wide off the mark and actually a bit deluded! Despite this, it's good links to Centrum and the old town mean that a visit won't really ruin a strict itinerary.
