Went here on All Saints Day evening after all the tombs were decorated with flowers and candles. Very pretty. Really would have liked to be there during daylight!

If you visit Warsaw on November 1st, don't miss a visit to Warsaw's largest cemetery. On this night the whole cemetery is full of candles and flowers.

HIstoric, beautiful cemetery, very old vegetation, filled with history. Walk the rows and rows of historical names . A quiet sadness about it.

This cemetery is walking through history, in a park-like setting. Many graves are Gothic and date centuries. Many are modern. There is a mausoleum and a Aleja (walk) of famous individuals interned in that area. An artist who was born and raised in my town of Bialogard, Niemen, is interned there. Next to him is the crypt of Katarzyna Sobczyk - a beloved Polish singer. You can spend an entire day there going through history of the famous, and not so famous, who were interned there as early as the 1700's. Easy tram ride from the Central Train Terminal. It is an oasis in the City of Warsaw, with much greenery, and huge mature trees.
