Spent 2 very peaceful hours in the Chopin Museum. There are so many objects and interactive sections as the museum takes you through the amazing life of Fryderyk Chopin. You could spend a long time here just relaxing listening to the music. The building and grounds are also stunning.

This is a must of you like Chopin's music. There is also Zelazowa Wola, where you are likely to be taken if on an organized trip... however, if on your own and like the music and would like to learn more... this is a must see place.

We went to this museum with our 1 year old baby, it said it was buggy friendly but we still had to go up a flight of stairs to get in. Once inside the staff told us there were lifts, but in reality for the exhibition one has to go up or down 5 steps to go into each room, very uncomfortable. The exhibition was presented in tiny screens with useless cards that one has to swipe to turn on. It is difficult to follow up on Chopin’s life and work by following subtitles on videos of letters and diaries of his life. I don’t recommend it if you’re visiting with a buggy or wheelchair, or don’t know much about Chopin.

I had high expectations for this museum after recently visiting Beethoven haus in Bonn, Mendelssohn and Schumann haus in Leipzig and the Lobkowicz collection in Prague, which were all of a high standard.

What a huge disappointment. Whoever designed this "interactive" museum needs to be shot. It DOES NOT WORK.

Firstly, there are NO audio guides, and many of the digital LCD display guides are only offered in Polish.

The autographed music score on display is accompanied by an entirely different piece of music, which is played on horrible sounding speakers from the ceiling which actually rattle during the louder sections.

The deceptions don't line up with the prints, which are ALL photocopies (not just some like most museums, but EVERYTHING is fake!).

One of the two large projections with interviews with Chopin academics wasn't working, and many (>20%) of the fake photocopied display pieces were missing "due to conservation".

There are a large number of Sennheiser headphones to accompany the displays, but there are all in polish!

Don't waste your time here.

I am a classical music lover and I had huge expectations for the Chopin Museum. That expectation was largely crushed within minutes of entry. There is absolutely no order to this museum. Usually a museum which showcases a person is ordered chronological from birth to death. In many museums, the direction in which visitors should proceed are clearly marked. In this museum, we first observe an exhibit which explains something about Chopin's birth, and after that it is like a maze with mass confusion and no sense of direction. Lots of musical scores, old photographs, letters, etc. but little information provided. For example, I am aware that Chopin was born in Poland, but spent most of his life in France. But I have no idea where or if this information was explained. Does the museum assume that we already know that? Overall, I learned NOTHING from this museum. Huge disappointment. I have visited Mozart's house in Prague and Mozart's apartment in Vienna, which were both wonderful and memorable. The Chopin museum can be skipped entirely. I don't think I will remember anything from this museum.
