Great place with a lot of great information about Chopin, give you a great deep look inside his non-musician life and you may really fast understand how it's effected his music.
Well the building or old or was reconstructed as old, most of the rooms without the windows and since I was there at August when it was about 29-30 degrees outside there was no oxygen. The air fans was kind of good try to solve the problem. Once you have opportunity to came other less hot day make it.

The Chopin Museum is an interesting high tech approach to museum organization. It was well thought out and arranged and was only marred by the fact that some of the technology based effects were not working, or only partially working when I visited.
It could also stand to be air conditioned as the building can be almost unbearable on hot days.

As a former radio rock disc jockey, I do not have a close affinity to classical music. This is no disadvantage at this total quality event. I say "event" because that's what it is. The organisers have taken a classical music giant and showed off his life, work and contribution to the societies of Europe by the clever use of IT and copies of original written materials.

The event has "participation" as its centrestone on all floors with something to satisfy even the most picky of entrants(on the subject of which, there's a whole room allocated to children).
Before going, however, check that it's open as it does not acknowledge the 7 day opening concept.
Whatever.... Go

I had heard that Poland spent most of the budget for this museum on high-tech toys, and was not disappointed. You get a card that you can swipe in front of each display with a red dot (to start a PowerPoint presentation and dialogue in Polish). if you don't speak Polish, forget about listening on the headset provided, and just read the sub-titles. This is how much of the museum is set up. There is one room with a piano and chaise lounge from Chopin's home, but no other furniture - although there are sketches of various places that he lived or visited.
There are many letters to various patrons, lovers and friends/family, but there are so many of them that after a while it becomes redundant (and I stopped reading them).
Overall, I was not impressed by this museum, since I am already a fan of Chopin and this did not really add much to my knowledge base.
BEWARE - You can ONLY get tickets for this museum online or at the ticket counter (in the building next door) - concierge desks at the hotels cannot help with this. The online website is NOT helpful if you don't speak Polish - there are English translations up to the point that you register to use the site - but when it comes to actual payment data, that is ALL in Polish. I tried guessing at this, but got it wrong somewhere and the payment did not go thru (so I wound up having to buy a ticket onsite). The cost for an adult is 22 Zloty (about $7 USD as of 7/1/13)

I enjoyed too much this museum. It's very interactive and I think that it's interesting to the children.
