“Don't go there in spring if you suffer hay fever!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

We visited this wonderful Zoo in june 2013 and loved its widenes,, its diversity of trees and plants and because the animals . You can easily spend a whole day in this parc but, when we were there there were so many particles from trees and plants in the air that it seemed like it was snowing! If you do have hay fever stay away from there in springtime when the weather is dry and sunny or you really will have a big problem! I myself don't have this kind of problems so we enjoyed our day at the Zoo very much Animals look well taken care off and the atmosphere reminded me off the Zoo in Berlin: in the citycenter an oasis off tranquility just a moment to realise in what a beautiful world we are living. The only critical remark I have to make is that explanations etc. are only in Polish. The only english word we could find was at the souvenirshop:)

“"The Zookeeper's Wife"”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Because of another review on here that mentioned the book The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman, I read the book before we came to the zoo. It's about how Jan and Antonia were able to save 300 Jews by hiding them in the zoo during WWII. It's a wonderful book, and a true story. You can see the house where they lived not far from the main entrance, inside the zoo. I'm pretty sure it was on the right side, near the birds.

The zoo itself is average. Some of the enclosures were nice and natural-looking, but some were still old wire cages. It isn't huge, so it won't take you all day, but not so small that you feel like you didn't get your money's worth. It can be horribly hot inside the buildings, but there is lots of shade outside, and lots of benches. The penguin feeding was quite entertaining.

“A fun outing for all ages!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

The Zoo is easily accessed via public transport and is set among gorgeous parkland which looked stunning as the leaves were just starting to return.

Great value for money (compared to our zoo back home) and a wide variety of animals to see. We particularly enjoyed the monkeys and sloths. The animals are well cared for.

“Nice during good weather”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

Nice zoo. Nothing like San Diego Zoo but they do have a lot of animals. the "open air" spaces the animals have seem kind of small. They cannot really roam around. You have a good view of many of the animals although some look a little sad. Get there early. the line builds up quickly to get in. You can bring your own snacks or lunch and picnic inside or outside the gates (in the small park across the street).

“An average zoo”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

If you are an animal fan, you have probably seen better zoos, not to mention seeing wildlife during safaris.
