“Bold statement”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

I visited the monument early one Sunday morning, and was very pleasantly surprised by how popular it was.
A hundred or more girl guides ( or similar) were there as a form of commemoration and remembrance to those who had died in an attempt to bring freedom to Poland.
The monument with its large standing figures is unmissable. As is the charcoal grey figures descending into the sewers.

“great findings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

it actually evokes sadness within you when you see the monuments. How wars in ancient times have taken the lives of soldiers. We found the monument coincidentally because we were actually lost in the city area. But lucky us to have found this place as it wasnt that touristy compared to the old town square or novy swiat.

Very comprehensive radio guide to each part of the exhibition, l particularly liked the films taken at the time, though very sad and poignant.

“Very powerful image”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

This monument is powerful. As well as the sculptures there is also a plaque on the wall which provides a basic overview of the events leading to, during and after the uprising. Very sobering is the number of casualties.... Including the revenge extracted against the civilian population in the aftermath of the crushing of the Warsaw resistance.

This remarkable monument represent the uprising of the Polish people against evil. It's quite a big and impressive monument that is certainly a must while visiting the old city of Warsaw.
