That is a huge project that shows the history of Jews along the times, WWII included. You can spend hours in there constantly learning. The part with WWI was very emotional.

One of the best history museums I’ve visited. If you are the kind of person who is thorough about viewing exhibits, make sure you allow plenty of time for this one. There is so much to read and observe, and the unique set design throughout the permanent exhibit provide a relevant backdrop that really enhances the experience.

My wife and I walked from our hotel in the Old Town to the Polin Museum. We are not Jewish, but we found the history fascinating. We spent 4 hours reading all the information in English language, in each room and we didn't stop until we finished it. An amazing place with a varied history. It was great to read about Jewish settlement throughout the centuries. We were not eligible for an Age concession at this museum. We didn't take photos inside and we didn't need to. It was like an awakening for us to find out all we could about the life and religion of Jewish people. We traveled to Warsaw from Australia and felt very privileged to view this amazing museum. I have a school friend whose father and mother where members of the Polish underground in WW 2 and escaped from the Nazis to Australia. Even information about the Polish Underground is mentioned here and I was mesmerized by the stories portrayed here. The museum is a special interest museum and won't suit everyone. It is a reading museum and you need to be 'on subject' to enjoy it. My Japanese wife and Australian me, were interested enough to go such a long way to start our tour Beyond the Iron Curtain in Warsaw, so we were just hungry about information before we started our journey. A visit is highly recommended.

Not only is this a modern museum, it is really well set out with fascinating history of 1000year Jewish history of Jews in Poland. You need to allow about 3hrs to follow it round properly and the audio guide is really well worth getting. It has been well researched and presented and follows round naturally. Displays have polish and English commentaries.
