This place was cheap, but not one of those "get what you pay for" spots. Clean and safe, in a secure building with a security guard guy and you have to be buzzed in. Helpful friendly staff. We messed up and booked a one bed "double" room, thinking we'd get 2 beds, and even though it was our bad (silly Americans), the front desk girl grabbed us a little cot thing for the floor so we wouldn't have to share a bed. And she let us check out late on our last day because she felt bad for us. Totally sweet.
Comfy blankets, modern decor, you can tell it's new. We had a balcony we could walk out on. Not in the super super center of everything. Quiet area I thought. But literally 10 mins away from everything. A cab was cheap (20$ ish) to get to: the airport, old town (by the castle), and we could walk to some restaurants and nightlife. We stayed for 3 days. right next to convenient stores, gas station, 24 hour pharmacy, and coffee shops. Obvi warsaw wasn't the most beautiful place, but modern and clean, and wi-fi and 2 computers to use in the lobby.

Room Tip: when you book, you should know that "double" means one big bed...with space for two people...

We have stayed 2days twice - at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week. The beginning of the week was really quiet but the weekend was rather noisy. Unfortunately there are people who cannot close the doors by using the handle, they just let it shut which is not so relaxing especially in the middle of the night.
The hostel can be found really easily. It is located in an old building under construction but the hostel inside has no problems, it is new and facilitated well. The rooms are small, but I think enough to sleep in. Furnished with a double bed (what we have asked for) and one table and two chairs + a bathroom. The whole hostel is really clean and staff is helpful (they have provided information of public transportation, gave us a hair dryer, ordered a taxi). There is no TV or wardrobe or shelf or night light. WI-Fi is great and good connections, and there are two common use computers in the hall.
Breakfast is self-service with bread, cold cuts, cheese, corn flakes, some vegetables but not too much, tea (I loved it), coffee, jam, butter. It is from 8:30 to 12:00 but I guess if you go later you will not have too much to eat, but if you ask the staff they will bring you anything what you need: more bread, more cheese.
You can buy public transportation tickets right at the building at the store. But if they run out of the tickets (like as it happened at our case) just walk one corner to the city center and you can find a ticket machines which even approves credit/bank cards and to purchase a ticket is really simple and you can choose English language on the machine.
The Palace of Culture and Science is not far by walking - it is about 15 minutes. The city center (old market center) is about 30 minutes walking. We didn't use the public transportation and it could be accomplished by walking every day.
My rating is average only because there is noting which makes the place very good. I would say good, but that is all. Nothing special in the hostel but really clean.

Room Tip: We had No.8 first which was good from the point of view of the neighbours but as soon as the public...

There are more central hostels and budget hotels in Warsaw than the Planeta. However, thanks to the tram right in front the hostel is very well connected to the major places of interest – downtown with the central station and the Palace of Culture and Science is just 10 to 15 minutes away.
The rather new place resides on the first floor of an old apartment building with a concierge. So don’t let the exterior throw you off: inside everything is clean and well taken care of. You might say that the functional design lacks personality. But I’m not even sure the Planeta aims to be a backpacker hotspot. I stayed from Wednesday to Sunday. During the week it was fairly quiet and on the weekend all the other patrons were Polish – ranging from students to middle-aged couples. Also, there are no maps or much sightseeing info at the front desk (the only advertising is for a shooting range and ballooning). I didn’t see that as a problem as there are a number of well stocked tourist information centers downtown (not to mention online guides).
I stayed in room 6, a double, sharing a bathroom with room 7. While the room is overall perfectly fine with a wonderfully hot and strong shower there were a few impractical details and one big annoyance: First up there are no closets, just a table with one chair and coat hooks to put your stuff. In addition there are no night lights – so bring a torch or use your phone for the night. But the worst part is the noise: Because the double windows do not close properly it feels like the tram runs straight through the room.
There is a well equipped kitchen with a telly showing Polish soaps. Breakfast is included: do-it-yourself bread rolls with cold cuts, cheese, corn flakes and, if you’re lucky, tomatoes and cucumbers. The coffee reminded me of my Africa trip: Nestlé powder coffee. But there is a coffee shop across the street and a few restaurants around. And if you want to cook there is a small convenience store next door (you can also buy your public transport tix there).
WiFi plus two communal PCs are free.

It is really nice hostel. Modern and with great design. Very clean rooms and bathrooms (rooms could have a wardrobe though). Breakfast was super tasty and big. Nice and helpful staff and they have free ironing kit (awesome!). It was November in the middle of week so it was quiet , no party vibe. It was really good for me as I was on business trip, but if you are looking for party I don't know if it's good place. But I can recommend this place for sure!
