This is more what it represents than the looks, because there is not much to see actually, but the meaning it's obviously very strong and deep.

So sad, yet we must never forget. You need to be careful with the small curbs and the cobblestones, there are many trip hazards in Eastern Europe, but it is difficult to watch where you are stepping when you want to look up in awe. It is horrible that 86% of Warsaw was destroyed in WW2. Imagine a large city near you, with 86% of all the buildings destroyed.

Walked to this monument. Had some difficulty finding it as our map had it on a different street but we did find it. There are two sides and it is very sad but important to remember. Glad we found it, saw it, and will remember.

This is the old memorial, and it marks a momentous event - the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. However, a new Jewish History Museum is being built beside it and should open in 2013. Looks like it will be amazing.

This memorial is very moving and well worth seeking out. It' s little bit of a walk from town square but very well done and a "must see" here. Both the back and front of the memorial are very well done.
