Go prepared to spend the day! It is worth it! A great place to relax, listen to Chopin, walk in the shade, look at the fountains and lake and see the beautiful mansions. Stop for delicious ice cream along the way!

Many cities in the world have beautiful parks or botanical garden as attractions so I can say that I was not overly excited about the prospect of visiting Lazienki Park, thinking that I would not see anything that I hadn't seen before.

The thing about Lazienki was that is was huge, with lush lawns and also a few attractions scattered through out - such as the Palace and friendly peacocks. The squirrels are overly friendly, one scampered up my leg and scratched me. I found myself googling when I returned home about the health status of the little rodents but I can say now that a week later I have had no ill effects. :)

We spent a few hours just walking around so you would easily spend half a day there if you wanted to prepare yourself with a picnic.
We returned on Sunday to see the Chopin concert- AMAZING and FREE! The park was packed out and the atmosphere was electric. Keep an eye on what is going on in the park, if you can see a concert then it makes it even more worthwhile.

The Sunday Chopin concerts during summer is a must. Great atmosphere. Worth to go there 30 minutes earlier to get a good seat.
