If you want a weekend in a fascinating city full of character and history with no crowds - Warsaw is the place to go.
You probably need 3 days, good walking shoes and sunshine.
And the place to stay is the intercontinental.
They upgraded our room to a corner room on the 35th floor with amazing views.
The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom excellent as you would expect with a walk in shower as well as the bath. The Nespreso machine in the room was a lovely touch.
The staff were incredible - they went the extra mile to get us the last pair of tickets for a brilliant concert at the National Philamonic Orchestra and recommended an excellent restaurant in the old town.
