“Excellent stay at the heart of Warsaw”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

I stayed 4 nights in Polonia Palace during a recent travel to Warsaw for a work purpose. I got a deluxe business king and it was great. The room was in the corner overlooking the main Aleja Jerozolimskie street and a side Poznanska street with a stunning view of the Culture and Science Palace and the high-rise office buildings. The hotel is very cozy and the room was very spacious, clean with complementary coffee/tea (which I never used) and complementary wi-fi. The bathroom was very clean too, with pleasant heated tiles on the floor. The room description mentioned Chopard amenities in the bathroom, and I couldn't quite understand what exactly was from Chopard until I checked in and saw that it was a hotel size bottles with shampoo, gel and body balm from Chopard (which I never used anyways, as I prefer mine). The bed was large and spacious, the room was always clean.

One very small negative moment about the room was the bathroom door. It was very stiff and difficult to open. Or rather it was the door hold open unit that made it difficult to open the door and moreover to keep the door open. I prefer to keep the bathroom door open in hotels when I wash and shave in the mornings and evenings as I listen to news or music on tv and it was difficult in here. But this issue is so minimal that it doesn't harm the overall impression. Rather it's just a comment.

The hotel is in the old building which survived the 1944-45 Warsaw destruction. It was renovated and it's indeed very cozy and welcoming. The security (if there's one) was invisible and every time I returned to the hotel, even very late at night or early in the morning, I didn't feel like I was watched by door security guards, something that you see in some other hotels. I liked that the door plastic key card was not with a magnetic tape, which frequently gets deactivated making you see the receptionist for reprogramming, but had a smart chip which has no problem on how and where you kept your door key.

The breakfast was included in the rate and was great. Or maybe it is because I love polish cuisine :) The breakfast had all the regular food, vegetables, fruits plus additional tray with polish sausages, variety of polish cheese, pickled cucumbers and delicious desert. There was always a long line for an omelet, but it was worth waiting. Chilled champagne and polish Wyborowa vodka (don't drink in the mornings :) awaited early birds each morning. The breakfast is served in Chopin restaurant and the sign there says it is a Michelin recommended restaurant. Espresso coffee (instead of regular coffee concentrate) was served free of charge upon request during the breakfast. The service staff is welcoming and smiling.

The immediate neighborhood around the hotel is the Palace of science and culture, Warszawa Centralna - Warsaw Central train station, popular Zlote Tarasy shopping mall and located in the walking distance Krakowskie Przedmiescie street with historic buildings stretching to the main square and the old market.

I noticed that the rate during the week is more than double, compared to weekends. That is my room rate until Thursday was very high and from Thursday onward was more than double cheaper. Probably because of high rate of occupancy for business purposes during the work days.

I'd definitely like to stay here again when I travel next to Warsaw.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the side Poznanska street are very quiet and pleasant which still leave you the vi...

This hotel was recommended to me by my brother in law who stays here whenever he is in warsaw, it is not the cheapest hotel in town by a long way but it is very very nice. I paid approx £125 a night for an executive room with breakfast for 2 people. And as I booked direct I got an upgrade to a junior suite . On arrival I asked for the free upgrade the website states but was told the rooms were all fully booked, so was disappointed that I would only have an executive room, I also asked for a view of the square, when I got to the room I found a very pleasant and quite large room but the view was of the center of the hotel, I went back to reception and asked if I could be moved to the square view room I asked for but there we non, and I was then told I could have a junior suite but it also had the interior view. Thinking a suite with a bad view was better than a room with a bad view I took the suite, when I got to the suite I was very impressed, it was big, very big . S to the hotel... The bar was nice, and in happy hour (4 -8pm) was also reasonably priced. Typically a beer and a wine was 20 plz ...
Breakfast... Well what ca. I say.....war were here for 3 days and didn't have to buy lunch once. It was plentiful and excellent quality, and the champagne and vodka just made the difference.......everything from cereal to full coked and polish traditional....very very nice.....

The only thing I would say as a negative is that from our room...601 in the morning there was a lot of noise from either above or below where the hotel staff were moving things around...not so much that it was annoying but never the less, still noisy...

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a really nice stay in warsaw ...it was very very good

Very nice hotel in a good location. Restaurant was a bit pricey, but was very good. Traveling companion had a massage which was also very good. Front desk was helpful with museum times and helped with a Polish language phone call which was very appreciated. Breakfast was also good, although the breakfast room was a bit crowded.

Fantastic hotel, superb location, huge comfortable modern room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of a high quality with lots of choice. The hotel is a short walk from the central station and the Warsaw galleria shopping centre. As you would expect the bar was expensive but there are lots of places to have something to eat and drink close by. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in center of town - we had a room overlooking the street and it was well insulated so street noise was minimal. Service here very friendly and helpful. Room was modern and comfortable. Breakfast was high quality and many choices. Warsaw is very interesting and a beautiful city.

Room Tip: if you are very noise sensitive ask for a courtyard room; otherwise the city view is much more inter...

We spent 2 nights at the Polonia Palace, at a very advantageous rate; breakfast was not included. The hotel has recently been refurbished in a very stylish way and both the reception area with its huge palms and plants and the rooms with their clean lines are very pleasing. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom fully tiled with under-floor heating; both were very clean. Staff were friendly and polite and it was a lovely haven to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing. The business centre was good - 2 positions in the reception area, not stuck away in a broom cupboard, a printer ready to go for boarding passes, etc, no problems at all. One negative - in this day and age Wi-fi should be free, and strange that they should charge when the business centre is free to use.
