this is a great hotel, rooms recently refurbished,
just some building work going on which is a bit of a site.

we only had the room only option and choose to eat and drink out as the hotel food and drink prices are almost the same as a room price, although the room prices can be an absolute bargain for a 5 star hotel.

the swimming pool area is fantastic for hotel pools, great to relax before going out in the evening

Room Tip: rooms at the front the best views over looking the tomb of the unknown soldier

Thank you very much for choosing Sofitel and for taking the time to share your opinion with other TripAdvisor users.

I am very glad to learn that you enjoyed your stay in Sofitel Warsaw Victoria and appreciated the services that we offer. Furthermore, I am very happy that you liked the new rooms as they were designed to offer more comfort with a modern design to please the eye. The works the hotel is undergoing are done with our guests in mind, so it gives us an immense satisfaction that you like the 'new' Sofitel Warsaw Victoria.

As you kindly mentioned, the swimming pool and the SPA in general are a great place to relax, whether after a hard day at work or simply afetr a day of visiting the beautiful Capital of Poland. I hope that you have taken advantage of everything the city has to offer. If not, at least it serves as another reason to visit us again in the near future!

The front desk staff is EXCELLENT and they try hard. However the Concierge staff is aloof, a bit snobbish and seemingly a bit irritated if you bother them to seek assistance. We had arranged directly for a transfer (pickup at the airport) and it was confirmed, but no one was there when we arrived.
We were told upon check-in that the hotel was undergoing remodeling and so there might be noise 9-5. The first night & following day weren't a problem because we arrived after 5 & began our day before 9. However, our last night it was an issue because we got back to the hotel around 3 and the noise was pretty bad. My husband spoke with someone from the front desk & was told they had changed the hours to 10-6. He asked to speak with the manager. After some time on the phone, the manager agreed to give us a 20% night credit and free breakfast for the following morning.
The point is we should have been advised well in advance of our arrival. We NEVER would have stayed there had we known of the construction. We paid an advance prepaid rate which was nonrefundable. Certainly the construction was scheduled at least a month prior to our arrival andwe should have been advised and we should have been given the option to cancel & receive a full refund. I received a welcome email prior to arrival and the construction project should have been mentioned. Would not recommend hotel due to this situation and the poor handling by management.

Dear Crazydukefan,
Thank you very much for your feedback on your recent stay in our Sofitel Warsaw.
First of all let me thank you for your excellent notes regarding our staff at the front desk.
With regards to the poor service of the Concierge, as well as the welcome in the airport, I wish to investigate it a little closer. And I would very much appreciate if you’d contact me directly at h3378-cr@sofitel.com
I am truly sorry to learn that you were not informed on our renovation, when booking your room. It is always our intention at Sofitel to make every stay of our Guest a magnifique experience. And this time we have not reached our goal, obviously.
Taking into account that our remodeling is now in the finishing phase and that we currently held extensive trainings for our staff, I wish to encourage you to visit us again soon, so we may show you our progress. We would be delighted presenting you our new modern hotel rooms, luxury lobby with a stylish bar and a new brasserie restaurant that is opening in a few days.
And, most of all, we want to earn your recognition of our service. Therefore I remain at your entire disposal for all further assistance.

I suppose the reason that I haven't given this hotel the full stars is a) the building work and b) the expense of some items was just that little bit too much. I do accept that staying in a 5* hotel will bring the cost of sundries up and that to sit in the plush decor within the air con walls is different to outside but still £9 for a shot of Polish vodka? - Whilst I looked out at rubble?

Ok enough of that, the staff are friendly, efficient and the facilities are very good, especially the pool area with its heated loungers and mirrored ceiling. Our room was well appointed, clean and spacious and although there were only 2 English TV channels we didn't spend much time inside because the wonderful old town is just on the door step.

Beautiful area full of shops, restaurants, bars and tourist sites - plus just down the road in the other direction is the most famous of all Warsaw landmarks the Communist building, which although now homes a number of attractions itself still maintains its dramatic vision of Stalin's presence - you can go up in the lift for about £3.

We didn't eat at the hotel as there is so much choice in the area, from a 'eat fresh' organic salad bar on one side to Italian A La Carte and predominantly excellent Polish restuarants and cafes down little side streets. There's an excellent Thai restaurant across from the hotel on the other side of the square, which you will be able to get to far more easily when the building work has finished.

I would go back, but I would wait until the work has been completed and might buy a bottle of the special vodka and sneak it into my room :)

Dear KateWill76,
I wish to thank you for staying with us recently and for your essential feedback posted on Tripadvisor. Your opinion is very important for us and helps us continuously improve our service.
As you were kind to mention, we are in a process of renovating our interiors and we are now very proud to inform that big part of the works are finished. In addition to the spacious pool with a mirrored ceiling, we now have a new lobby and reception desk, elegant and very functional “Kitchen Gallery” restaurant, as well as completely new and very modern hotel rooms on the upper floors. Soon we will open our new brasserie and our chic bar next to the hotel lobby.
We do our best to reduce the inconvenience related to the renovation and noisy works are only allowed during day time when most of our Guests enjoy the city and its attractions. And, as you have described, there is an infinite number of sightseeing, shopping and dining options. And, especially our Concierges are always there with the handful of suggestions, recommendations and information.
I do hope to have the chance of welcoming you back soon, so we may present you the progress and new interiors of our Sofitel Warsaw Victoria Hotel.
Yours sincerely,
Piotr Prasuła

Some Taxi drivers know it as "Victoria", not Sofitel. This was our second hotel stay in Warsaw during our 5 days Poland journey. Our first 2 days we stayed at Hilton Warsaw which is very modern but it is kind of out of the way. But Sofitel is right next to the Old Town, the center of everything. Interesting thing is both Hotel has a Casino next to it. I'm not sure the purpose of these casinos since it's quite odd to have them around right in the city center. We had a room has two floor to ceiling windows. It was very roomy for a very reasonable price. We didn't book their breakfast because of the outrageous price. It is easy to go around have breakfast in the Old town.

Room Tip: part of the hotel is under renovation. Make sure you get a room the opposite side.

Dear Blancdechai,
Thank you very much for choosing the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria when visiting Warsaw recently.
We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay, or spacious rooms and our splendid location. The hotel Victoria is in fact a landmark in Warsaw, which served for many years as a synonym for luxury, being the one and – for many years in the past – only five stars hotel in the country. We have hosted numerous prestigious events and most demanding Guests. Also on Warsaw culinary map, the hotel restaurants have well deserved excellent reputation.
Since we now are one of the Sofitel luxury hotels, we decided on extended remodeling of the house. In addition to the recreation area with a spacious pool and modern gym, we already have our new lobby and beautiful “Kitchen Gallery” restaurant. Soon we will have all our rooms refreshed and redecorated to respond even better to our Guests’ expectations.
Looking forward to welcoming you again soon I remain with kindest regards,
Piotr Prasuła

This hotel is perfectly located, right in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier. Also very close to the old town where you can find very nice cafes for breakfast. This is the only issue we found in the hotel, the breakfast is expensive vs. what you can find outside. We did the reservation via booking and breakfast was not included, then dont take it in the hotel...
rooms are nice, calmed, clean and overall very good hotel.

Despite there being construction going on, the staff did everything they could to assure our peace and tranquility. We enjoyed the view of Saxon Garden right across the street.
Speaking of location, it really was near the best neighborhoods. No need for their limited transportation system. Convenient Convenient Convenient!!! Add on their gorgeous new pool and I was in heaven. We will return. We loved Poland, we loved Warsaw, and we loved the especially fine service at the Sofitel Victoria.
