Warsaw Marriott Hotel
Ranked #16 of 129 Hotels in Warsaw
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 29, 2011

Over the last 5 years I've stayed at this hotel in excess of 100 nights and have never been less than pleased with it. Very large beds and *probably* the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel. In short the hotel delivers what you should expect from its star rating. Breakfast is buffet style, sometimes very busy, but always plenty of food catering for visitors from around the world. Maybe having tea / coffee making facilities is a "British" thing but on this last visit this was available filling in a gap. Bathrooms vary in size but all are more than adequate, complete with soap, shampoo etc. The hotel is convenient for the Roma Theatre, Sala Kongresowa [Conference / Concert Hall], and also many non touristy restaurants in the side streets around the hotel. The main railway station is on the opposite side of the road although you would not necessarily be aware of that as the operating part is mainly underground. Also a bus station [behind the railway station] and a modern shopping centre is opposite. There seems to be a lack of small shops but that is because they are also underground in the walkways as you cross from the Marriott to the shops / train station. It is a relatively easy walk to the Old Town and there is also the option to use the buses and trams immediately outside the hotel. Bus from here to the airport or numerous taxis.
This last trip was part business / part pleasure. My wife spent a complete day on her own in Warsaw "out and about" whilst I was at work. As Warsaw is a "safe" city there are no issues doing that and the Marriott is a good place to start from. There is car parking beneath the hotel or outside on a surface car park but relatively expensive. A car whilst in Warsaw isn't necessary as the public transport is excellent

Room Tip: The hotel is "quiet" overall but the side adjacent to Emilii Plater is the best

Stayed at the Marriott 15th to 22nd October, Went out for the day with my wife and daughter arrived back into the room and found an envelope with a letter asking if I was interested in the services from a hooker. Also there was a message on the phone voicemail with a similar content. I went down to reception and they apologised, and they sent up a bowl of fruit. Two days later a voicemail message was left on the phone in my room asking me to call to the reception, I did and yet another letter was left at the reception which I opened up in front of them, with a suggestion that I could meet up with another hooker. I showed them the letter and they said perhaps it was from someone that I met at a meeting !!. I told them that I was with my daughter (who was standing with me) and I asked them what are they going to do now. They offered my family another room from the 28th floor to the 32nd floor. I accepted and we moved. The Warsaw Marriott is a business/commercial hotel and not suitable for families. Would I go back to Warsaw ? Yes, but to another hotel which is more family friendly

I stayed at the Marriott as part of a conference, and found it to be excellent in all respects. I had a room on the 23rd floor, overlooking the Palace of Culture and the central station. The hotel felt luxurious without being stuffy, and staff were helpful. The hotel is part of a wider building which includes restaurants and some shops, as well as being connected by underpasses to the station and the shopping centre nearby. Breakfast was fine, and the hotel had easy access to the airport by taxi. I walked to the reconstructed historic town in around 20 minutes. I would happily stay here again on future visits to the city. Finally, the bed was very comfy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the station and the Palace of Culture.

Great, central location, good value for money, delicious breakfast, outstanding service and some nice restaurants.
Just beware of the hookers in the top floor bar. Also hotel taxis will charge you triple price. Just go outside and you will find plenty of standard ones.

Centrally located in an area which is not much fun. Banking district, good for business men, less good for regular, culture or sightseeing interested tourists.
Rooms are good and big, only problem is that windows can not be opened. So the air is very dry and the rooms are much too hot. Problem for people like me who do not like to live in or sleept with a/c.
Breakfeast hall is more a train station than a restaurant - it is huge and not really inspiring.

The Marriott Warsaw has everything you look for in a 5 star hotel (except for the fact that the room was just small with a very small bathroom!).
It is only about 200 meters from the main train station (Warszawa Centralna) and with well-marked direction to the hotel.
I stayed for 3 days. Hotel has great service, friendly receptionists and great breakfast (probably the best in the town).
If I return back to Warsaw I would stay there. Please note that the rates are high!

Room Tip: Take your room with view to the north or east only!

We stayed at the Marriott for 3 nights and found it a good option for a business or leisure traveler.

Location: The hotel is right across from the Warsaw Centralna main rail station and adjacent to a large modern shopping mall ( which includes a pharmacy, banks, phone shops, restaurants and most things you might need while traveling). The hotel is also 10 to 15 min walk from Nowy Swiat which leads you to many of the main tourist sites in the old town etc.

Rooms: I am a Marriott frequent traveler and the rooms in Warsaw are equivalent or slightly better than you would typically get in a North American Marriott. We had a corner room fairly high up and had a great view. The building is fairly old and you can hear a little noise from your neighbors but it was not bad enough to be an issue.

Gym: fairly modern gym with a good selection and number of cardio equipment, a nice pool and both weight machines and free weights. Lockers are available if needed.

Executive lounge: much better than the North American Marriott lounges I have been in. The evening happy hour complimentary food and beverage options were great and very popular. I think we saw quite a few people eat dinner there and did not see many restrictions on the number of drinks people were having. We ate breakfast in the lounge each morning and there were a good range of hot and cold options.

Overall, a nice hotel in a good location. There are some areas that need updating (like the elevators) and there was some construction going on while we were staying at the hotel.
