Owner description: German soldiers led Jews captured during the suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to this assembly point for deportation.
Reviewed June 8, 2013

This is very important site and very, very tragical for both Poles and Jews. There is nothing left form the original buildings. Everything was burned to the ground by Germans, after Ghetto Uprising.

This place marks the spot from where over 300000 Jews were sent to their slaughter.
The cold marble monument gives a chilling effect and the place is so very somber.
A tour in Jewish Warsaw simply must include this monument.

This is very moving to see this spot where the nazis herded the Jews and undesirable poles to box cars to transport them out of Warsaw. Just a wonderful monument or rememberance.

We (a group of university students & I) end our journey through the old Warsaw ghetto here. We start at the one portion of ghetto wall that is still standing, move on walking through the old ghetto streets to the monument to the Ghetto Uprising, to the bunker where the ghetto fighters fought, and then on to here. So when we get to this, and they understand what reaching this point meant to the Jewish people of Warsaw, it has a strong message. I am glad they placed this monument here. I agree with the reviewer below, thought- you have to understand the whole history of this area for it to resonate. Still - a wonderful tribute to those sent away to concentration camps.

From this site, residents from the Warsaw Ghetto were deported to their deaths. While there is nothing original left, this is a moving memorial
