I went out of my way to find this building and I was glad I found it.

A real heart wrenching discovery and makes you think what it was like in that building in WW2 when it was the Ghetto of Warsaw. Hopefully this building stays and is left untouched as a reminder of what happened in WW2.

A must visit

In the middle of Warsaw, not far from the mall and shopping, stands a street from the Ghetto that is a stark reminder of days past in Warsaw. It is very unique to see the old ghetto building by newer modern buildings. The pictures on the building are a reminder of the tragic history of the street.

Ul. Prozna does not shout its name from the rooftops or attempt to stand out, and perhaps this is for the best. This building makes the visitor think back on the horrors of the war on those who just happened to be living their lives in Warsaw at the time, as it has not been renovated since. It remains as the only unrenovated building in the city, serving at the same time to both make us think back on how ordinary people were affected by the coming of War without a choice, and also how much of an amazing job Varsovians did of rebuilding the entire city.
My girlfriend thought it would be better not to keep Ul. Prozna as it is a bleak reminder of the past, but I think it serves as a perfect memorial, for exactly the same reason.

Peaceful square, children playing - all a sharp contract to the building and photos. The sombre pictures recalled those that lived here and served as yet another reminder to all of us who have been fortunate enough to not have experienced these horrors.
