“Wilanow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

I read beforehand that Wilanow (Villa Nuova in Italian) is tucked away in the romantic surroundings of the Royal Gardens. I fully agree. It is also known as the Polish Versailles, only at a smaller scale. A very well kept garden and palace and not overcrowded with tourists!!:-) Lovely visit.

“Great Wilanów”

Great place for weekend free time. Try to visit especially during autumn. Palace is very beautiful. Worth to see. Don't forget about it during Warsaw sightseeing. Enjoy it!

“Wilanow Palace & Gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013

King John III Sobieski extended the 17th century palace in the Baroque style as a gift for his belowed wife Marie of French origin. The palace was modelled on Versailles though in smaller dimensions. During the Nazi occupation the palace chambers were devastated and the most valuable works were stolen. The thorough reconstruction in 1960s restored the palace to its former splendor. Worth seeing are palace suites of the king and his wife, the palace rooms of the 18th and 19th centuries and the Polish portraits gallery with paintings from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Around the palace extends a scenic park and gardens in English style. It is said that the king planted some trees himself.

“Go early in the morning or you wont have any ticket”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The place is very beautiful but a bit far from the city so it is recommended to go early in the morning to ensure you will have your ticket to go in, if not you will go there for nothing. THe tickets to see the castle are for free.

“If you have time for walking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Palace is better to look outside than inside. Nothing special. Better is to walk around in park and see buildings outside. Nice walk especilly late spring and summer.
