“Chilling!”

This is a small museum which doesn't take long to get round; however, it is chillingly authentic and makes a massive impact.

“A must-see for WWII buffs”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Excellent small museum at the site of the former Gestapo headquarters. Prisoner cells are in tact, basically untouched, and bullet holes can be seen in the walls. There's definitely an eerie feeling here.

The entrance sign is not obvious, so I will attach pictures of the entrance. Also, I was unable to get a taxi from the museum back to the city center, so I walked a bit towards the embassies and found a taxi there.

“It's like a real Azkaban prison with dementors (Harry Potter reference)”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

What a chilling place. Not cold as in temperature, just chilling knowing what happened there. Some cheeky, tourist sound effects that needed to go. But take your time, read everything, watch the video, pause and think. Worth the few Zloty. If you are not moved, check your pulse.

“Small and well maintained”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

To be frank, there is nothing much there. But I appreciate the fact that the Govt has made this palce free for all and most importantly invested so much money into doing up all the electronic displays to detail the entire historical event. If you were to read through all the features on the electronic displays, it might take you a good hour or two because its so detailed. But the details get overwhelming. Its a very very small place and it does make you feel completely frightened the thought that many have entered and never made it out again. This museum is very out of the main town area and if you walk from town or shopping area , its about a 30 mins walk. And the building is almost not noticable. But its still worth a quick look.

“Excellent”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

Brilliant museum. Any museum that is housed in the place it documents is going to have that x factor. This was really did and combined visual but simple displays that complimented the sombre atmosphere of the place. Could have benefited with a few more English translations, a website and better signage though!
