This place is a tribute to the human spirit. It was completely destroyed by the Nazis in response to the Warsaw Uprising. It has been rebuilt based on original architectural plans. Be sure to see the Warsaw Museum, located on the Square, that documents the recovery.

Wow. Warsaw. I have been coming to Warsaw since 2005. Watching the old town revitalize has been a treasure. It has matured and should be recognized the jewel that it has become.

This square is smaller than he one in Krakow but has just as much charm. Despite in being high season there are not as many tourists as we had expected. Beautifully restored it its original state a very pretty square with lots of character.

We just visited here with 3 kids aged 4, 8 and 12. After seeing Wroclaw and Gdansk, Warsaw is a bit of a let down. The square here in no way compares to the beauty of the other squares but it is a nice central open space with some rehabilitated buildings, a fountain that the kids had fun putting their feet in, and some nice restaurants outside. The pump would have been a hit as well if it had been working. I wouldn't run back to the old town, but if I did, this was the nicest spot there.
