Our small travel group returned to Poland again, this time the venue being Warsaw.

Because there are no flights from Gatwick, our very local airport, we made the journey to London Luton where we used the carrier "Wizz" to make the journey.

A seamless journey from Three Bridges railway station direct to Luton and then a slick transition to the aircraft. From house to airport in less than two hours. No where near as taxing as Gatwick and a facility we will certainly use again.

Having arrived a Warsaw Chopin Airport we took a local bus into the city which was an experience (No.175). The cost was about £2 per person against a taxi fare of some £30 plus.

Having arrived at the Radisson Blu Centrum hotel we had a quick walk into the old city and then it was time for dinner.

The hotel recommended a local restaurant , however when we got there it was closed because of a private party going on.

By this time the evening was passing by very rapidly and we were stuck as to where to eat.

We happened to notice El Greco Restaurant which is almost opposite The Radisson Blu Centrum hotel so we ventured in. It was absolutely humming! The place appeared to be full, but the staff managed to sort out a table for us. The atmosphere is one of the best I've experienced.

Although the staff were rushed off their feet, they were very attentive to our needs and very quickly had our choice of menu sorted and drinks on way.

The selection of food available was extensive and there was something for everyone.

The service itself was prompt and the standard of cuisine was excellent. The size of meal was such that everyone in the party left some food on their plates, having been unable to manage the whole meal.

There was no pressure put on us to vacate our table once we had effectively finished eating despite the fact there was a queue forming, waiting to get seated(this was way after 10.0pm).

When it came to pay, yet another pleasant surprise.

The cost of the meal, when considering what we had eaten, was a fraction of what we have paid in other European cities.

Value for money? Absolutely. Simply a Greek oasis and one to note in the diary for any return trips.

I love the interior space at el Greco, the decor is really interesting. the food, fortunately, is also excellent. I ate here twice on an extended business trip. Both meals were outstanding. The kebabs are perfectly done and the "Oriental Lamb" kebabs were a highlight from my trips. The soups were very good. the deserts didn't shine quite as much. Staff English was bordelrine but the menu was in English.

This restaurant has a very modern décor. The staff were excellent as was the food. One evening we were waiting for a colleague to arrive at our hotel opposite around midnight and even although it had been the previous night we had dined here, we were welcomed in for a late drink as we waited for her arrival.

If you want authentic Greek food then we enjoyed this restaurant. Good service and atmosphere - worth a visit. Especially enjoyed the risotto Posejdon
