“The new Europe is here”

The comparison among Warsaw and some other Capital cities, like Rome, is embarassing. Warsaw has grown up "fast and furious". The metro stations are clean, the services are punctual and effective. the streets are clean. People are nice. You get an overall impression of safety, despite some drunk homeless, but really a few of them and not really giving the impressione to be dangerous. The monuments are clean and full of history. THere are a lot of nice shops and restaurants. Cycling paths all along the city. A must to see, and probably a great place to live!

“If You Haven't Visited, You Can't Understand Warsaw”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

This is the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and the experience certainly is a cornerstone of the Varsovian character. The events of the uprising are inspiring and depressing, showing courage in the acts and wholesale betrayal on every side as it progressed. If nothing else, it shows the value of self-reliance on a country basis. They had the courage to stand up for their beliefs while most others just gave in.

“Loads of Information of the Uprising and WWII”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

This museum is located away from the main tourist sites, but an easy stop on the tram from city center. Went on Sunday where it was free admission, but also very crowded. Try to get early in the morning where the crowds are mostly sparse. This is a very informative high tech innovative museum. My only advice is try to follow the exhibit numbers as this place is spread out through multiple floors and easy to get off track. The 5 minute 3d film of the complete destruction of Warsaw is worth the long wait in line. Outside of the museum is a wall dedicated to all the Varsovians who lost there life and a book to look them up. Helpful if your looking for relatives or doing any ancestry research.

Get there early. It opens at 0800 and we queued for 25 mins to get a ticket. It was crowded but with some good exhibits. Poorly signposted inside and a strange choice of colouring for some exhibit notes (orange on grey) made it difficult for my dyslexic partner to read. 3D film of Warsaw in ruins costs only 2 ZL but again its a 30 min queue. Lots of interesting stuff but they miss a trick by failing to provide written translations in places. Audio guides are available. Having criticised, I still managed to spend 5 hours there. Worthwhile but dont expect perfection,
