I went to Warsaw with a Polish friend. She recommended this museum and I was dubious but so glad I went. I left the visit till near the end of my trip and by then I had had a chance to read about and experience the reconstruction of the city. The whole presentation of the city in the museum is amazing. Whilst obviously about a devastating time the narrative does not dwell over much on the gruesome. In fact the matter of fact way of relating everything brought it all alive but still managed to bring something positive out of such horror.
My only slight negatives were for me rather too many displays of weaponry but I am sure that many people would be interested and the signage to route visitors was a little poor so I kept back tracking. Do watch the 3D film and take time to watch the contemporaneous film that shows in the main hall. I spent over 3 hours and don't feel Isaw everything but by then was starting to experience a history/museum overload.

I would strongly recommend to visit this museum. But be prepared to get the after-taste of sadness and terror in the end.
It is dedicated to the outbreak of fighting in Warsaw, people who fought and died for independent Poland.
You will hear the heart-beating in one of the walls. It is the symbol of those who was fighting vigorously.
There you can also see a short film in 3D about Warsaw when the victory was proclaimed. The view from the plane which flies above the city completely destroyed and the sad music in the background. A hard impression, but it is worth watching it.

Really a lot to take in. Better to have a guide to walk you around. Be prepared for a depressive moment since it's all very good installed and exhibited.

The museum is very interesting, and in spite of the fact that the history of Poland is very tragic, it´s great that they are mostly focused on Rising in this museum.
Don´t miss it!

If you have an interest in history or WWII you will really enjoy this museum. Very interesting to see that it was this during this time. Signs are in Polish and English along with several pamphlets. The museum is free on Monday so it is well worth it. Lots of displays, video, and information. This is must while visiting Warsaw!!
