We have been to about 4-5 Michelin star restaurants in the past month and this place is up there with some of these best restaurants. Menu is creative and ingredients are fresh and quality. I am extremely picky when it comes to food and this place delivers.

Just had 3 course dinner there last night. Service was excellent. Waiter was friendly and always trying his best to handle all our needs. Reli thanks to him. Food in there was good too, especially the starter, lobster with caviar. The chief is good at make different kind of sauce. This restaurant really impress us.

After all trhe fantastic reviews readed here and as we were staying at the Mamaison Le Regina hotel (the restaurant is inside this hotel) we decided to have a try for our last day of visit in Poland.

We were 4 persons and took a starter / main dish, 3 of us took a desert as well. bottle of Tokay from Hungary (one of the cheapest on the menu) + 4 glasses of deset wine, no cofee and no alcohol - final bill of 1500 Zloty (around 380 €).

If the quality was up to the reviews and our expectations it would have been OK (this a even cheaper than a real high class restaurant in Brussels / Paris / Rome) but it was unfortunately not the case.

Service is very good and friendly, sommelier knows very well his job and his wine list - problems were:

- very very short menu (almost no choice, 4 starters + 4 main dishes + 3 desert)
- almost all was good but nothing was exceptionally good (except the 'mise en bouche' offred by the Chef)
- the lamb was asked 'rare' and came 'well done'
- the 'risotto with cheese' was full of tomato and had nothing to do with a risotto and none of the 'creamy' from cheese based risottos
- the sorbet was tasting more like flavored water than real fruits
- the salmon was just OK, a plain deep-freezed industrial salmon - nothing to see with a real wild fresh salmon
- the 'raviolis' wren't in the dishes (only the inside content)
- the 'souflé' of chocolate was a simple 'mousse' with a tasteless passion fruit emulsion

So the evening was not bad, wien and service perfect (special mention to the choice of breads they gave you) but not up to the asked price and our expectations. For me it doen't deserve it's very high position in the list and so good reviews. We had better meals (more simple however) at much cheaper price in other places from Warsaw and Cracow.

There was nothing that once could dislike about La Regina restaurant. Great food, easy quick service, nice to dine al fresco in a quiet street in the Old Town. Mind you, the restaurant only had three tables occupied when I went, so it was perfect for a lone diner, but it would be fantastic to return with a group when it's busier to enjoy it then.

By far, the La Rotisserie and Chef Oszczyk is the creme de la creme of modern cusine in Poland ! Amazing products and tastes, and none of that 'molecular' flashy talk. Polish, French and Italian are the key words- but be prepared for a surprise. The hotel is quiet, elegant and very, very relaxing- more like a big pension house, really. The restaurant is also very elegant, and I reccomend the evening shift of staff - they have a master sommelier who knows his job really well. Highly reccomended !!
