“Best location, very good restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2010

Harder for a better location for the hotel in Poznan - it's almost the old city center. Rooms are modest, but there is everythink you need. Location certainly affect the price. In my opinion the biggest advantage of this hotel (after the location) is a restaurant. The food is not only a very good, but also very cheap.

Recently stayed a night at Hotel Rzymski, whilst in Poznan for the Manchester City game. Everything was fine- clean room, friendly staff, good location right near all the bars and shops, and breakfast was good too. In the unlikely event I ever find myself in that neck of the woods again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Couldn't go wrong for £40.

Saw good reviews on this place and they were correct. I arrivied to Poznan via the Central station (glowny) and I walked to the hotel. About 25 minutes and a nice walk at that. You can also take a tram to a local stop closer to the hotel, but I found the trams a bit confusing and decided to walk.
The hotel is in a GREAT location. Two blocks from the old town. Do a search on Poznans old town and see all the beautiful pictures and know that when you stay at this hotel you are a 2 minutes walk from it all.
Hotel is very nice, looks a little old style inside, but elegant and very clean. My room was of a decent size for Europe with a small shower, but really everything you need. I believe the room had free Wifi or ethernet, but I didnt bring my PC and just used the PC in the lounge area free of charge for guests. They also provide a great breakfast buffet free of charger. If you do have a room street side it may be a bit noisy from the trams outside in the morning, but no more than expected when staying in a city.
It really is a great place to stay, with great place to see, dine and shop just steps away.
Try the local beer "Lech" great beer with a bit of a kick.

Hotel is situated in an impressive representative building in the center of the old city. The rooms are not large and rather modest. Service is acceptable (without revelations, but also without problems). The hotel has a nice restaurant with good prices. The problem is noise outside the windows (trams). The main and decisive advantage is its location.

The hotel is located in beautifull old building very near the old market square in the heart of the historic city. The hotel does not have the best prices in town, but it definitely beats the others by location. Service is good, but not perfect. Hotel has no aspirations of being five star, but thanks to, the prices are still acceptable.

The hotel is fascinating for its long history and it is very well mantained.
One of the best places to sleep in Poznan.
It is also really in the centre and so it is very convenient for visiting the city.
The breakfast is also very good.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2009

A century ago, Poznan was German and this hotel's name was French (Hotel de Rome); twenty years ago, when I last visited, it seemed to be crumbling, along with the Communist system itself. Today it is nicely renovated and smoothly efficient, but full of historical memories and perfectly situation for a visit to the city's touristic heart, the Stare Miasto. The prices for all hotels in Poznan fluctuate wildly depending on the schedule of trade fairs; I happened to catch a low-rate date (ca. $55. for a single), which represented extremely good value for a compact, but very nice room. Drivers, however, have to reckon with an additional $15. charge to park overnight in the underground garage across the street. I did not eat in the restaurant, but the breakfast buffet was the most lavish I can recall. And when a rock-music event made the street-side room that I was originally assigned too noisy, I was readily given a quieter inside room. All in all, a very favorable experience; and nice to see how well they've spruced the old place up.
