Great food, i have eaten here twice now, however on the second occasion the service was increddibly slow. We had to wait 20 minutes to have our order taken and wait a further 20 for just drinks to arrive.

Although this may be a one off, i suggest paying this place a visit if you are foreign to Polish Cusine, their groats dishes are well presented and tastey aswell as their dumplings!

Great atmoushphere and freindly staff but just very slow service, i think they forgot about our table.

Interersting fact, Chatka Babuni translates to:Grandma's Place

We had dinner at Chatka Babuni and really enjoyed it. We found the restaurant by chance and as it had a menu in English outside we decided to give it a go. The restaurant was really busy and full of locals, which is always a good sign. The restaurant decor is really lovely in an old, rustic, country house style. It was really welcoming and comfortable.

The food was amazing. We shared a mixed plate of 5 oven-baked pierogi for 20.99 PLN (we had spicy, chicken and sausage pierogi) with garlic sauce to go with them. These were the best pierogi I have ever tasted and wish this restaurant was a chain so we could have had them throughout our trip to Poland. We also had a salad which came in a very large plate to share. The mint lemonade was very refreshing too.

The service was slow, as other reviews mention, but well worth the wait as the food was excellent (we waited over 30 minutes for our food, but they did bring us some bread, a cheese dip and gherkins as entree while we waited for the food). The staff were friendly and welcoming.

I would totally recommend this restaurant if you are in Poznan. Don't miss the best pierogi in Poland.

The food there is just amazing, but if you dont like pirogis dont even go there! :) The only minus of this restaurant is the service, which is slow and a bit unpleasant. For the food we waited for about 30 minutes (which is not tragic), but waiting more than 10 minutes for bottle of beer is just wierd.

Oven baked dumplings were amazing both for those who eat meat and for vegetarians! We were a big group of 50 and booked the place in advance. However, we had to wait for our food almost 40 minutes. But it was very much worth waiting - could not stop eating!
