Good food, good service. The owner takes care of everything asking guests around if they are ok. It is unique this days...

There are two restaurants Anatewka in Lodz but they belong to the same owner.
First one based in city center is difficult to reach by car because finding parking area there is not so easy.
I therefore recommend Anatewka restaurant based
in Manufaktura in Lodz,
Manufaktura itself ( shopping center and more ) is interesting to visit because it is built into XIXc textile factory. So after having walk around, visiting Modern Art Museum and doing some shopping if neccesary, it is nice to have lunch or dinner in Anatewka.
Food is very good and decoration is in vintage style
so altogether it makes nice place to stay.

Great idea of serving jewish food in Lodz. Too bad the food is not so great and way too expensive for what it is. Everyone in our party left dissappointed.

The oldest and best jewish style place in Lodz. The owner is a friendly host and makes you feel as returning friends. The menu card is a selection of old time favourites, and you can ash them down with good Polish vodka or a small selection of Israeli wines. If you like masculine, deep, velvety reds, definitely go for the Gamla. The interior makes you think of your grandmothers appartment, with a charming bric a brack of memorabilia - whether your grandmother lived in Vienna, Budapest, Lvov or - Lodz of course ! Service is friendly and discreet, and sometimes there is a young woman playing sentimental memories on her violin. Definitely nice place to go - you most probably will be back during your next visit to Lodz :) There is also an Anatewka on the "market square" on Manufaktura, But somehow the one on Sierpnia is more unique.
