“Clean, new and cheap”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

I really liked this hostel. It was nice, clean and cheap! I was very comfortable!! The showers are really nice, good flow, good space, good temperature, nearly better than the one at home! The rooms are also pretty big and the beds are good too! All the hostel it's pretty new and in very good condition! The building from the outside might look a bit old, but the important thing is how it's inside! I can't say anything bad about it! Definitely recommended!!
About location: it's not right in the center, but it's only 10-15 min easy walk! Easy to find!
Congratulations, and thank you!

I was supposed to stay in another Hostel in Wroclaw, but after staying there (Boogie Hostel) for two nights I moved to Grampa's Hostel after it was recommended to me by some friends that were already there. I can say with total honesty that this is an exceptional hotel, and I can think of no way at all to improve it. Everything about it is brilliant, but this is what made it particularly perfect for me:

- I stayed in the cheapest dorm (the Zebra Room!) and it only cost me 30PLN
- The beds were extremely comfortable and the dorm was spacious
- As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe here
- Everything is pristinely clean, including the showers, toilet and kitchen
- The facilities are brilliant - kitchen, showers, computer, fast wifi, hairdryer etc
- The reception sells essentials like hygiene products and you can print your boarding pass
- The common room is great, with a TV, guitar, sofas, xbox, books, games etc
- The décor is really funky!
- The location is great: about a 10 minute easy walk to the city centre
- The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and would honestly do anything for you
- ... and the BEST thing is the social scene! The Friday night bar crawl is unmissable!

Exceptional. That's what comes to mind when trying to describe the hostel, quality and cleanliness. Humble and down to earth. That's what comes to mind when describing the staff, the vibe, the comfort. There is nothing pretentious to be found at Grampa's. Upon arrival the receptionist is always warm and tending to any need. The common room is funky and cozy. Whether you wish to read, relax or socialize, it can be done with utmost comfort. The kitchen is brand new (as is everything in the hostel) and begs to be tested. It hosts a Sunday cooking where every week an international cuisine is explored. And serves up a free breakfast every morning as well as providing a nice atmosphere for tea or coffee at any time of the day. On friday evenings there is a Pub Crawl, a must do! ;) The rooms are comfortable. The air conditioning is effective and available in every room. Available too are wifi and laundry. Stop reading already and boooook! You won't regret it.

The hostel is brand new and really pretty, with a great common room and a big kitchen. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I couldn't imagine a better place to stay! I was supposed to stay one night only, but extended my stay for another day, cause i didnt want to miss out on the chance of going out one more time with these great people! That's probably the best hostel I have ever stayed at! Thanks a lot, guys, you're great! :)

Grampa's is the place to stay if you are visiting Wroclaw and want to relax and explore the city. The staff is very nice and helpful, led by Ola and Alex the owner/manager team. There are pub crawls on weekends and international lunch events on Sundays - also, the staff participates in many cultural activities throughout the year. The guests can also participate, giving them a chance to get a richer experience of the city and it's culture.

And this is one of the few hostels that are air conditioned, which makes all the difference when sleeping in on a warm day

The location is very near the center and you can walk or take a tram to for sightseeing

Grampa's is the hostel all other hostels should aspire to be

Stayed only 1 night at grampas 12 bed dorm. Will definetly come again for a longer stay!
The staff is very friendly as the hostel manager provided us directly after our arriving to go out and party with her and the other guests.
Everything was clean and the location is central.

Grampa´s Hostel is so far one of the best hostel I have ever stayed. Clean, super cute decoration, big, nice kitchen and excelent staff. Our first contact with it was when we were looking for it on the street and a girl (probably the manager) stoped us with a great smile asking if we were looking for the hostel and showed us the direction. The other girls were also super nice and helped us find nice Polnisch Restaurants and book our bus to Krakow. Concerning the room, it was a double, very spacious and we had our bad close to the ceiling. That was the coolest part of it! Breakfast is also included on the nice price and it is not bad at all. Simple but good! :)

Thank you for the very nice stay!

Room Tip: The room that we stayed was a double and was the loft one. Since the bed is pretty close to the ceil...
