The Blue Beetroot was a gem of a place to stay, we found our room comfortable, cozy and charming. The day we arrived happened to be a holiday in Poland and after asking about it one of the staff took the time to run off some info for us to read explaining the holiday. We settled in with a drink and were given a print out of sites and pottery stores in the area which was a big help seeings how this was our first venture into the Polish Pottery scene!! Later that evening we had dinner at the hotel that was both delicious and relaxing and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone headed towards the Boleslawiec region for Pottery shopping just wish we had more time to explore others areas surrounding it. But we do plan on a return trip and now that we know where to stay that will be one less decision to make!!! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for providing a pleasant place to stay and of course to the owners for taking the time to renovate the old barn!!

Room Tip: We had a triple for the three of us (adults) and had room to move about as well as the bathroom being roomy enough to actually turn around in compared to some hotels.

Our visit to the Blue Beetroot was also our first visit to Poland - and we can't wait for a chance to stay there again. Barbara and John have created a truly charming bed and breakfast and a well earned reputation for great dining - including a yummy beetroot ice cream. The rooms are spacious and nicely designed, all within the character of the barn - and there is the added bonus of popping in to say good morning to the donkeys and horses on the way to breakfast. Particularly enjoyed the pierogi class courtesy of the Blue Beetroot's cook and ably translated by manager Jarek - for whom nothing was too much trouble for the length of our stay. The brochure talks of the Legend of the Blue Beetroot (something to do with moonshine and smuggling). Don't know how true this is but Barbara and John's welcome, warmth and Beetroot Borscht are certainly legendary. Great choice for a long weekend filled with medieval castles, wood walks and as much pottery as you can fill your boot with.

Wonderful place to stay. Very clean rooms, nice bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Not the typical hard European beds you get in Europe. Customer service is excellent. We had car trouble on our way there and someone waited for us until 2:00 am to let us in. Incredible!! If you are going on a Polish Pottery shopping trip they have this excellent map they have fine tuned with all the places to go and a key code to let you know who has bathrooms, tours, food, gas, etc. They will even go over the map with you and give you much needed tips on where to go. Their restaurant was excellent and the food was fantastic!

Warm welcome, knowledgeable staff, clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel is located in a quiet village but close to many activities. The restaraunt staff was outstanding - great service, personable waiter and of course delicious food! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come again.

The Blue Beetroot is located in a quiet country village - but close to many activities to include pottery shopping. You are warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to your room. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Jarek, the manager, and his staff are extremely friendly and willing share with you information about the area. Jarek’s recommendations were spot on – we did a bit of pottery shopping, visited a charming medieval castle, went for a picturesque walk in the woods & village and explored the historic city center. The hotel offered many other recreational activities such as horseback riding, spa services, hiking – plus if you had a request they would do their best set it up for you. Their restaurant was outstanding. We stayed for two nights and had dinner at the hotel both evenings – all of our meals were delicious and filling. I enjoyed my stay so much that I am already planning my next trip - and I plan to stay this hotel!

Hello Maureen,

Thank you so much for the review! I am really glad that you enjoyed staying with us, did some shopping and also explored the area. As you could see- we have much more than just the pottery!

I hope you enjoyed Krakow afterwards as well!

Best regards and I hope to see you again in future.
