Description: Many people say this tiny hut located well off the main street hosts one of the best restaurants in Zakopane. It's one of very few places where locals come to eat. Having owned a flat in Zakopane for a year and having visited most of the town's restaurants, my conclusion is: Avoid the most advertised restaurants in Krupowki or rather stay away from ALL of the street's forty-something eating places, because they are nothing but a Polish version of fast food, a chain operated by a couple of owners, serving prefab food prepared at factories owned by the same people. Kolibecka is a rare exception.

“good find by the ski jump”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

me and my girlfriend went to this restaurant in june 2013 while visiting zakopane. it is a bit of a walk from the main strip but worth a trip.
you have to order at the bar what i think is a positive as in some places in poland you wait for ages to get served/get a bill/pay.
my girlfriend had a goulash soup which was delicious and the portion itself was much bigger than expected.i had a pork steak with baked potatoes and leczo (kind of Hungarian style stewed red peppers side dish).
both meals were delicious. the bill including two small beers came to £10/£50 zloty.

“Great trout!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

You can't leave Zakopane without trying trout and this little restaurant has the best trout in town. Fresh, delicious and served whole! Kolibecka is pretty small and always busy, so make sure you come early or expect to wait a little bit for a table. The food is ordered at the bar and then served to your table. The menu has English translations and the waiters speak English. Great little place and inexpensive! Highly recommend it!

“Traditional and inexpensive”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Visited Kolibecka on the first evening of our stay in Zakopane as it was very close to our B&B. The downstairs is quite small, but each seating area is separated by paneling so you don't feel overlooked or sardined in!

Traditional Polish cuisine served, not an extensive menu, but enough to be able to have to choose between a couple of dishes. You order and pay at the counter (assuming upfront payment is because they have had some trouble with non payers, as this is not usual practice in our experience) We had Goulash and potato pancake (which was a big plateful) and dumplings stuffed with meat (good but not huge portion). Both meals were very tasty and with drinks and tip, at the equivalent of £15, great value

“very interesting but very small place”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

nice place with interesting decor, but really small. And you should come to the stand yourself to make an order. Our table was right near the stand - it was not very comfortable when other visitors were always standing very closeдню Still the food was very tasty - trout with garlic, spesial 'pirogi' (вареники) and apple pie.

“Great food in a nice setting”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. A Polish friend of ours had recommended it to us. We weren't disappointed. The food was great, portions were actually very big, so don't over-order. The setting was very nice.

It is a bit out of the way from the Zakopane town centre but worth the detour.

Service was okay mainly due to the waitress not being very friendly.
