Antique Apartments Krakow Poland
Our stay at the antique apartments was quit mixed
The biggest complaint was noise. There were “fixed noises” every morning between six and six thirty the garbage guys would come for the bins and roll them out. Nothing wrong with that except concrete buildings surround the apartment courtyard, which made the surroundings very reverberant. The huge plastic wheels made the pulling of the garbage bins noisy. The next source of noise was from the GUESTS themselves…. the staircases are also very reverberant chatter, singing, shouting, closing of apartments doors just echoed throughout. We stayed over a weekend and it was so annoying especially from the inconsiderate guests. Upon check in we were given an information sheet, which suggested a quiet time period. The apartments, well the one we stayed in was not airconditioned, this would have allowed us to close the windows, but when u have to leave the windows open for ventilation then the noise comes in. There was hardly any traffic noise, well not in the apartment we were in, number 7 in building A above the single room check-in office. This apartment had two bedrooms one with two single beds and the other a king size bed which produced creaky noises at the slightest body movement. This was very annoying and I can see efforts to cure this was attempted evidenced by the glue residues on the wooden frame So if you plan on sleeping after being jet lagged or just tired form your tours this is not a suitable place for sleep unless you plan to wear earplugs.

I recently went to Poland with my husband and 2 children and stayed at Antique Apartments. Very good location and near shops, attractions etc. Never tried the restaurant downstairs but there were many other restaurants nearby. We stayed on the 2nd floor - Apt 7.
The apartment was very spacious and was well equipped. However, the bed JUST CREAKED ALL NIGHT!! The slightest movement set of the loudest creaks..I have never heard anything like it. My son who slept out in the family room could hear the bed creaking!! Needless to say a good night's sleep was impossible. In addition, the window treatment consisted of thin white curtains over very large windows. By 4:30 AM it is quite bright outside and again sleep is impossible. By 6:00 AM the noise out in the courtyard just sealed the sleepless night. Although Poland is beautiful and we enjoyed the history and attractions I was exhausted after never getting a good sleep.
The water in the shower was either cold or hot. I think something was wrong with the mixing system. It was quite an ordeal to take a shower.
Staff was very pleasant and spoke English well. Helpful and knowledgeable. My husband did mention the creaking bed but was met with just smiles. Overall, it was good value but little things like the above mentioned can just damper the experience. I would recommend this hotel but would advise potential visitors to ask about these things before booking. Not being able to sleep while on vacation can take a toll on one's nerves.

I found the staff very helpful before arrival but we encountered several problems with our room when we arrived. We stayed in the Radziwillowska studio, which was okay, but:
1. There was no curtain over the glass front door (which opened on to the kitchen/lounge area) and window next to it, so there was no privacy, especially as the only other place to get dressed is the bathroom. The people staying in the apartment next door couldn't resist looking in as they walked past and liked to stand on the balcony outside our front door to chat and make mobile phone calls.
2. The room is right by the train line and you can here the trains very clearly. It made it hard to sleep.
3. The sheets were clean but old and worn (bobbly - a bit nasty).
4. There's no lamp by the bed so you can't read in bed at night, and nowhere to put a cup of tea or coffee.
5. When we checked out, we left our bags in the Left Luggage area of the main office but were told we had to collect them by 5pm. As our flight wasn't until after 9pm, this created a problem. In the end, we had to go to the airport after collecting our bags, where we waited for several hours - hours that we could have spent in the city had the main office been staffed for longer hours (like a hotel).
