Tango House Bed & Breakfast

First, I am rating this based on my expectations of a bnb when traveling. I look for someplace spotlessly clean, friendly, well located with free WiFi and a good bath. Tango House nailed it! It is an easy walk from the train station and just around the corner from the Main Square...and all the action. Our room was large, very clean and offered the necessary amenities. My husband works while we travel around the globe, so he needs good internet access...it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not opt for breakfast. There were a number of great cafés just steps away. The entrance can seem a but off putting, but once you enter the courtyard and meet the staff, it is all good.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard for more privacy and quiet.

The title says it all. Location is perfect, rooms large and comfortable with tango music available through speakers on demand (seriously), and the nicest girls working at reception. Breakfast costs extra but not much and it is GREAT! Not to mention the whole stay was very affordable, even for Krakow which is already quite affordable. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a triple room and it was totally comfortable for three. Plenty of walking-around room

Myself and a friend stayed within one of their twin rooms over a weekend, and found the hotel to be fantastic. The people working the front desk, the location which is just off of the main square, and the comfort level of the room we had was more than the right amount for the cost of our stay.

We really appreciated the aid of the front desk staff in booking tours over our stay there, suggesting walking paths in the city, and for being such a welcoming group on arrival.

Beyond all of this, the two single beds in our room gave us both some of the best sleep we have had on a trip in a while. The only negative tied into sleep and location is that there is an Irish pub which sits down the street and around a corner from the Hotel that seemed popular with the stag party groups. This wasn't a big issue for us, but I did hear them singing as they passed the hotel on street once or twice late into the night. Perhaps ask for a room not facing the street if this may bother you. As lighter sleeper, it didn't wake me once I was asleep, but it was noticeable(not overly, I imagine a fan running would block out the sound) when I was awake.

Overall the hotel is in a fantastic location, with wonderful staff and I would without question stay here again and suggest it to many friends/family and even to you fine people.

Originally booked a room for 4 but found out it contained 2 double beds which is not ideal with 4 guys on a stag do. The hotel was very accommodating and stopped us to 2 twin rooms at no extra cost. Rooms were clean and tidy and maid service everyday we were there. Very close to the main square but hardly any noise. Would recommend to anyone not wanting to spend a fortune but also not wanting to slum it. Overall well worth the money and would definitely return again.

This is a really hard review to write. There are so many good things about Tango House but there are some minuses as well:
Good things: the four receptionists who are all friendly and helpful; the location which is just off the main square; the ancient and characterfull staircase which is apparently from a seventeenth century bath house and still has painting from that era on the walls. The breakfast room while tiny was very sweet and the courtyard which leads from the street is very charming as well. It was nice to be able to pop back during the day for coffee. The breakfast was adequate and the coffee was good.
Not so good things: The location was noisy (ok, you can't have it both ways. And I think it was mainly drunken stag-party Brits making a nuisance of themselves at 3am). There were a couple of issues with the room (a missing plug from the sink and a faulty TV remote) which didn't get fixed despite repeated requests. There is no lift which wasn't a problem for us but might have been for people with mobility problems. There are four keys (four!!!) to get to the room from the street, and some of them are a bit fiddly. The bed was a bit small and wedged right up against the radiator.
On the whole, despite these things, I would recommend Tango House. It couldn't be more different from a standard hotel chain box, and if you are prepared for individuality and quirkiness and are prepared not to be too critical, you will love it.

Dear Nick!
Thank you so much for your kind words.
We are truly sorry about the issues you had with your room. The building being so old (XVI century), it is very hard to change anything in it. Impossible, you might say, when it comes to an elevator issue.
The four keys are there to ensure that all of our guests are safe despite being so close to the Main Square and all of those tourists that come to Krakow.
We hope that you will remember us well and that we will see you one day again and improve your opinion about us.

This hotel was recommended to us by a bed & breakfast in Warsaw and it didn't disappoint. Location was just around the corner from the main square. The young ladies that ran the reception were fantastic! They would help look things up on the internet and make dining suggestions, give directions, related which buses to take outside Krakow, recommended tour to take us to Aushwitz.
We would stay there again and are recommending it to friends.
Only down side was no elevator and a very narrow and winding staircase to haul luggage up.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with steps, make sure to request something on the lower levels cause there isn...

A comfortable cosy and clean small hotel just round the corner from Main square. The most fantastic staff, always friendly and helpful, can book excursions, transfers and Tango Milongas if you wish. The room is clean, the bathroom very modern with facilities. Every morning a nice breakfast is servered and gives you a good start for the day.
The stairs to the rooms might be heavy for elderly people.
Some repair concidering the doors inside the room would increase the comfort. And maybe a small fridge.

Room Tip: You will meet the real Krakow.
