“Polish means good!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

I have tried this restaurant many times but the last one had been more then a year ago.
The food the you will get there is simple and traditional. This means really good!
The people working there are nice and helpfull and speak good English.
The feeling you get there is similar to that you could have in a Polish house!
Oh and do not forget to but 'kompot" :)

“Wholesome food at bargain prices.”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

When you go to Poland you must try one of the many milk bars. the sell wholesome food at great prices.
The surroundings are really relaxing and as it is a milk bar it is self service. look out for "samoobslugowe". There are 4 Polakowski in Krakow.

“A real find in the old town and excellent value”
Reviewed December 7, 2012 via mobile

We just arrived in Krakow and were walking from the station to our hotel (Radisson Blue) as advised by taxi driver at-5C when we stumbled across this self service restaurant. The food is excellent and like other reviewers we were given a taste of the soup in a small cup. It was like a meat chowder served with either a 'dollop' of mash or a whole boiled egg. We both went for the mash and left fortified for our continuing traipse to the hotel. It was like stumbling into a student refectory with lots of warming dishes at incredible value.

“Unbelieveable”
Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

While we were having a walk around and about the main square in krakow we came across this small restaurant. Although it said self service we decided to give u a try as the prices seemed too good to be true. Inside, the restaurant was very clean and to my surprise very busy. After securing a table we made our way to where the food was being served. While waiting in the queue, we were handed some cups containing different soups on offer. What a great way to encourage you to have something different and to help make up your mind. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and it helped that they understood English, as I've found with most Polish people that I've met.
The potato soup was really good, likewise the tomato soup. After choosing two different kinds of soup we then went for a second course. My wife had a variety of salad items while I had the chicken brisket with mushrooms. Although it didn't look much to begin with I couldn't manage it all and left some. Including wine and beer it only came to a little over £10 (at today's exchange rate) which was excellent value.
We plan to do a lot more more walking within the main city area of Krakow and we've already made our mind up to go back there to recharge the batteries before moving on.

Sometimes is very difficult to find a place to sit. Many people like this place.
