I liked this hotel a lot. Very good location-close to the trade center and to the train station, 15 minutes from city center by feet. Very clean and cozy rooms, tasty breakfasts and a good service. I've received all the info needed for all my trips and places, where I wanted to go. The family owns this hotel. Very pleasant people, who really care about their guests, so you can feel at home) Every room is a piece of calmness and comfort with family pictures and old beautiful furniture. Very stylish place for those who value comfort and style in one box) I certainly recommend this cozy hotel!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, the location is close to the railway station, (great links from the airport to the station), only a short walk to the shopping centre and old town.

We were made to feel very welcome by the whole family, room was very warm, clean, with a good bathroom & shower.

Me, my husband and our daughter stayed at The Piano Guest House in Krakow, Poland, this year in July. We stayed for four nights, and say that we could have stayed for ever. That was the most pleasant and welcomming hotel we ever stayed at. I runs by a family and you almost felt that you were one of the family. They really wanted you to feel good and helped you with anything you asked for. The rooms were very nice in an old style and they were clean and sober. The location was very good for us. It took about 15 minutes to walk to the old jewish blocks and there was a large gallery with almost 300 shops just close to the hotel (about 10 minutes walk). I really want to recommend this hotel and when I visit Krakow next time, I´ll surely stay at the same hotel. Marvelous!!

i write this review with sadness as the owners of the guest house are very helpful, friendly and lovely people.
BUT, the location is terrible, on very busy motorway, and the mainline train track, a good 20 mins walk alongside a desserted footpath and main road to get to and from the town, where you will not see another person, shop, bar or cafe along the dimly lit road.
Its just a shame the guest house cant be picked up and dropped closer to town as the owners couldnt have been nicer, put on lovely traditional polish breakfast each morning.
we highly reccoment krakow. its a lovely, suprising, eye opeing city and we will return one day!

tip: visit the oscar schindlers museum in the jewish quaters, its free on a monday but get there early as they sell out before 10am! and then dont let anyone else in even if you offer to pay! the museum is fantastic!

visit the concentration camps too, sobering day, but histroy afterall

eat lots of dumplings, drink Visnoofka (cherry vodka), and take time to soak up the atmosphere in the market square.

The Piano Guest House is a warm and hospitable converted pre war town house personally managed by a delightful family who went out of their way to assist me with details connected with my travels. I stayed 5 nights. I started each day with a choice breakfast and a brisk walk to the Old City of Krakow, and returned to a clean and tidy room with a vase filled with fresh flowers. Small details make all the difference to a traveller's stay - The Piano Guest House guarantees them.

We were very disappointed with the location of the Piano Guest House and were surprised as it had got quite good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was a good 20-25 minute walk to the very edge of the city centre along an unattractive dual carraigeway.

The hotel itself had some charm, with wooden floor boards, creaky old stairs, cosy breakfast room and pretty garden. The staff also made an effort to make us feel welcome, putting fresh flowers in our room and organising trips for us. However, it was hard to enjoy these things as the guest house was quite run down - light switches that sparked a few times due to poor electrics, peeling wallpaper in our bathroom, missing light bulbs in the rooms. It has seen better days and needed to be renovated. However, I would have overlooked all these things if the location wasn't just too far away. Not recommended.

NOTE ON DAY TRIPS: The hotel organised trips for us to The Salt Mines and Auschwitz through a great tour guide - 'See Krakow' - who were extremely well organised and offered good value trips.
