“Happy visitors, Happy animals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

This is a really good visit. So close to animals, who all seem very happy and well cared for. Only dangerous animals are fenced in. Camels, flamingos etc you can photograph without fencing or glass blocking your view. Everyhing you can think of from Meerkats, and Tamarins to Sea Lions and Lions, Tigers and Elephants. You must visit the Giraffes, who are inside a brand new building in the winter.

Plenty of toilets located around the zoo and a cafe

Very inexpensive to visit about 15zl max (£3)

Buses run directly to the zoo, stop right outside.

“Not so big but well cared”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2013

This zoo may not be large, but it is neat, rich, and I get the impression that animals are there really well and happily. Nice place for a date or a family weekend. Lots of activities for children. Recently, there is a pavilion for giraffes and young giraffes! :)
Tickets cost about 5 zlotyds (1-2 euros).

“pretty good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Krakow Zoo is located in the middle of the forest. It's hard to get there from the center of Krakow. Tickets are cheap. Unfortunately, the zoo was under renovation, and not all of the animals we were able to see. It should not have a place in the tourist season. Good entertainment for families with children, but only on the day of nice weather.

“Great little zoo.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

We visited Krakow zoo in the afternoon and got there on the 134 bus which stopped very close to our hotel and only took 15 minutes. You get the same bus back into Krakow centre so it's very easy to get to. Entry was only 18zl and we would have paid for an English guide had there been one. There was also no map provided so we just wandered around the zoo until we found a large map towards the rear of the park, although all in Polish.

The zoo itself may be small but it has a fantastic range of animals. We saw some animals that we have never seen before in other zoos and a huge range of cats, including sand cats an jungle cats which were new to us. The jaguar also had cubs which were lovely to see. The nocturnal house was very good too, again containing species I had never seen represented in other zoos such as the sugar glider and the kinkajou.

As we visited later in the afternoon, arriving at the zoo about 2 o'clock, we caught feeding time for most of the animals, including all of the cats. This was great as all of the animals were then more active.

The zoo is set in beautiful surroundings and the woods were stunning for our visit, making for some of the most amazing scenery I've seen at any zoo.

If you have a spare morning or afternoon then this is definitely worth a visit for every animal lover, not just families.

“Not Bad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

For the money, Krakow Zoo is not a bad place to visit. When we visited, they were in the middle of renovations so there were a lot of vehicles moving around, but this didn't distract too much from the wide variety of animals they had. Brilliant!
