I spent 3 nights at Hotel Pugetow. I was on my own after a week long trip with Poland Culinary Vacations. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. I needed a cab at 5 a.m. to catch an early flight and they took care of it. All spoke excellent English. I had a single room so it was small but it didn't matter to me as I spent most of my time out and about Krakow. The bathroom was very modern with nice toiletries, plenty of towels, etc. I liked the location as it was very close to the main square but far enough away to be quiet. I walked everywhere. The price was right, too, and breakfast and all taxes were included. For me the breakfast was fine with enough choices. A cooked breakfast isn't that important to me. Also liked the fact that the hotel had a kettle in the room for making tea.
One review I read before my trip suggested that the neighborhood was somewhat sketchy. As a 67 year old woman traveling solo I DID NOT find this to be true. It was a city neighborhood with lots of people about, a bus stop where there were always people. I'm used to cities having lived in NY and now living just outside of Washington, DC.More
