I've stayed at this hotel on two different visits to Krakow - and I don't think I would ever choose otherwise! The hotel staff is friendly and helpful - with great tips on where to go, what to do, and especially how to do it! Complimentary breakfast each morning is a major perk! The location is across the street from Wawel Castle - and is maybe a three to five minute walk to Main Market Square.

The best kept secret is the roof top restaurant. Food and drinks are good, but the best is the FANTASTIC VIEW of the castle and city lit up at night! On my second trip, my family opted to by pass on one of the cities best restaurants to have dinner and drinks on our last night so we could enjoy the view one last time before we went home.

My first stay in this hotel was with my boyfriend at the time, and my second stay was with my family (my parents and two siblings).

You can't ask for a better hotel at a truly affordable price.

Lovely hotel, great location looking at the castle and river.Staff friendly and helpful.Food great.Hotel about a five minute walk from town.Cannot fault this hotel in any way.Booked the tours from a tour office in the town, most charge the same.Krakow is a lovely clean place, lots to see and do.Would definately stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front, castle and river view.

I was happy to spend my time in hotel Pod Wawelem. Unfortunately not everything was perfect. The room and bathroom were OK, clean enough, but not very modern. When I was standing outside the hotel I was thinking that it is going to be better inside. I was much more disappointed with the front desk people. They were not polite and didn't want to help me to find an appropriate way to get to the famous monuments.
Fortunately the breakfast was superb, GREAT!
I can fully recommend this hotel for someone who wish to stay close to the main square and the Castel Wawel but be aware that you might be disappointed with the people who work there.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a trip to Poland in 2009. The hotel is very clean and very welcoming. The food was very reasonably priced and was far better then some of the more expensive restaurants i visited while there. The hotel is situated just outside of the Main Square of Krakow next to the Castle Wawel but is only about a 8 Minute walk if that to the main square but there is lots to look at on the way.
The bar on the roof (although i didn't use it) looked fantastic and the basement bar was fantastic, spent a long night testing all the different vodkas down there. Overall this hotel was fantastic 10/10 and if i ever travelled back to Krakow again i would definitely stay here.

stayed at this hotel in july and cant fault it at all for the price we payed, staff were freindly and helpfull with a good knowledge of all languages. very clean throughout and well decorated. roof garden/dining area is the best place to be for sure, amazing views of the castle which is right next door and the river views are lovely but its the time when the sun sets which is my favorite by far. rooms are clean very smart and bathroom was very smart also.
the location is perfect for the castle and river as its on the doorstep to both.the main area of the town is a short stroll away through a lovely park area or through the streets way and took us around 15 mins to walk and once you get to the main square of krakow you will be amazed at the amount of bars and place's to eat
we stayed b&b and was a good selection of food which was always plentiful, warm and well presented.
would stay here again and krakow is a beautiful city

Room Tip: river view

stayed at this hotel it was good clean and the rooms were adequated the only thing that they could change are the beds as a double was two singles put together and they were very hard to sleep on but the hotel is well placed to see the city and the castle and go for a walk along the river
we dined here each evening and we found the food very good and the staff friendly it also allowed us to then go out to attractions at night
Krackow is fascinating and there is lots to do in the old city also the old city castle and many churches worth seeing both Auschwitz -----Birkenau are also a most see and the salt mines

the only area we found disapointing was schindlers factory and the jewish quarter otherwise this is a great city to visit
