“Lovely B&B in a lovely city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2010

We stayed at the Cracowdays B&B for 4 days in July, having arranged booking by email with the friendly staff, and were picked up on time from the airport as scheduled. Arrived in good time to be welcomed by Joanna, who ran through all of the required details and showed us to our room. We paid slightly more and took the superior 'suite' room, which is well appointed and comfortable, if you like soft beds you will be pleased.

Cracowdays is in an excellent location within the city, just outside of the Stare Miasto and a little walk from the amazing architecture and history, of which Cracow is justifiably recognised. The Cracowdays staff are extremely helpful in providing information about local sights and the best times to see various attractions. Cracow is a busy, touristy city, and a little advice is welcome if you want to avoid the crowds.

I can only say to fellow travellers that not only is Cracow a must to visit, you should not plump for overpriced hotels right near the action, when there is Polish charm and hospitality in abundance just around the corner.

Had a wonderful holiday in Krakow. The Cracowdays Apartments are a lovely place to stay - extremely clean, comfortable, wonderful staff (nothing was too much trouble) and only 10 minutes walk from the Square. We had a delicious continental breakfast everyday which was served in the kitchen. On our invoice it said to telephone the apartments the week before to let them know what time you will be arriving. I telephoned and got no answer and with no answering machine I could not leave a message - imagine my surprise when about 15 minutes later I got a call from them to find out the reason for my call!!! They also organised a taxi to and from the airport.

Whilst there we did all the touristy bits and would recommend the free walking tour which runs every day, meeting outside the church in the square at 11.00 am and 3.00pm.

Cracowdays organised the tour to Auschwitz which was the same price as the coach trips but was in a small minibus. We watched a documentary whilst travelling on the minibus which gave us a reminder of all the attrocities that happened during the war.

We caught a bus to the Salt mines which drops you off outside the gates and once you have mastered the ticketing system is easy - just find someone who speaks English and they are very helpful!

Would recommend Pod Baranem, Restauracja - it was the only restaurant we visited twice - food and service both excellent.

Miss out the botanical gardens - your local park would be a lot more interesting!

I would definitely recommend staying at Cracowdays - Krakow is a wonderful city but do make sure you take some good walking shoes!

The staff at Cracowdays were so pleasant, helpful and attentive. The rooms were tastefully decorated, clean, cozy and affordable. The breakfast served in the common room was terrific - felt so at home eating there. Extra kudos to the staff who let us check in at 7 a.m. after arriving super early to Krakow on an overnight train. The apartment is centrally located among all of the Krakow sights. Cracowdays has teamed up with some fantastic restaurants in Krakow where you get a discount for showing your room key. This was a perfect alternative to a hotel and it really felt like we were "residing" in Krakow for a few days.

This accommodation lived up to all expectations - very nice room (superior en suite), well furnished in modern style, very comfortable bed, quiet, clean, lots of character. Extremely helpful staff who happily help guests to plan their visit and give advice if needed. An easy walk into the historic city centre. Very fair price.

I would highly recommend Cracowdays as a place to stay while visiting Krakow. The facilities are clean, cosy and the service from the friendly staff is second to none. They couldn't have been nicer and gave us lots of tips on where to eat and what to do. We stayed in a superior room which was excellent value for money and the room itself was beautiful. This accomodation has a real character about it and we couldn't have asked for more from our two day trip. The reviews definitely do not lie.

This small hotel is in a good location. As other reviewers have commented, don't be put off by the entrance. Once inside it offers comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated rooms. Guests have the use of a kitchen and a computer with free internet access. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The continental breakfasts were plentiful. I would stay there again anytime.
If you have the time while in Krakow, take a train to Tarnov, a town just being developed for visitors with a lovely medieval square.
