Second time to this hotel and once again an excellent experience. Staff speak good English and are all very helpful. The Hotel itself was very clean and the breakfast buffet offered a vast amount of choice from cooked, continental and also items like olives and gerkins. Don't forget your swimming gear as the hotel has a small pool and jacuzzi on the 6th floor offering superb views of Krakow. It took us approx 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the main square although there are plenty of trams if you wish. The hotel organised the air port transfers which costs approx 80zl although late evenings, Sundays, etc can be a bit more expensive. Thoroughly recommend the Qubus in Krakow.

We stayed here for 4 nights in February last year and I should have posted a review sooner! We were a party of 7 and booked through Superbreak who are great to deal with - we book as many of our hotels with them as we can.
On arrival at the hotel there was an issue with one of the rooms, we had booked several rooms and one was for a double and we were offered a twin, however we were given a suite for the 1st night and then a double at the top of the hotel with fantastic views across the river for the rest of our stay.
That was our only problem, we dined in their restaurant on our 2nd night - fantastic and our waiter couldn't have helped more if he'd tried, he took a pride in his work. Their prices were very reasonable for both the food and the drink. Breakfast was in the same room and was very impressive, something for every taste and well laid out, again staff were really helpful. We didn't usually get back until gone 7'o'clock in the evening and so we also ate in the lounge bar some nights, lots of choice for meals and desserts.
Our sons enjoyed the pool on the top of the building and after a full day of sightseeing they really enjoyed lazing in the jacuzzi and marvelled at the view from there.
Also, for what we wanted to see in Krakow and the surrounding area we found this hotel to be ideal trams and buses were really frequent or you could simply walk over the bridge into the town.
Our friends have now asked if we would go with them in March and I am 99% sure we will be booking at the Qubus.
One of the most unual places I have ever been to was the salt mines - vast and cavernous and so far underground, over the centuries the miners have created a catherdral there and many others - chandeliers out of rock salt, chapels it's just amazing, there is even a restaurant - it must the deepest place on this earth I have ever drunk a beer!

This hotel is a great choice if you are looking for a modern hotel at a good price and don't mind a bit of walking. Rooms were small but perfectly formed, swimming pool was a great place to kill a few hours before venturing out for the evening

We stayed here for three days in August, and this was our first time to Krakow. The hotel is located outside of the main square; approximately 20-25 minutes by foot. Taxi rides are rather inexpensive through out the city, and there are free shuttle rides that are affiliated with the tours that pick up guests at the Qubus Hotel on a regular basis.

Restaurant on hotel premises is exceptional in terms of quality and service. Food is delicious, fresh, and the breakfast buffet is 5 star quality. The cost to eat at the hotel restaurant is rather costly, compared to eating in restaurants in the city, but still less expensive than having a meal at a 5 star restaurant in North America.

We had an issue with cleanliness of bed linens upon arriving at the hotel, and the concierge staff was rather cold an unapologetic for the inconvenience. When scheduling tours, visit the gift shop in the hotel and steer clear of front desk. The male staff are more friendly than the female staff members, who seem rather put-off to extend a helping hand to weary travellers.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very happy about your positive opinion regarding our restaurant. Appropriate action will be taken at the reception to raise the guest service level . Also in high season, the front office team will be strengthened. We do not know whether it will be male or female. We guarantee that the best candidate will be chosen. You are welcome to verify the change during your next visit. Regards

I stayed at the qubus late november the hotel was recommended to me by my sister who had stayed here last year This is an excellent hotel perfectly situated. I booked an airport transfer by emailing the hotel, great service, and requested a river view room. The room was on the 6th floor with stunning views across the river to the old town. We had dinner in the restuarant a few nights great food and so cheap it seems too good to be true. They also have a free internet service in the business centre which we made very good use of as our flights back to the uk were cancelled twice due to UK airport closures and we had to extend our stay by 3 nights oh what a shame!! We also booked our tours at the shop in the hotel and they were the same prices as town but we were picked up at the hotel. The walk to the old town square is about 30mins and whichever way you go through the jewish quarter or a stroll along the river its very pleasant even in the snow and -10 I would certainly recommend this hotel and will certainly go back

The Qubus is a modern hotel, situated just across the river from the Kazimerz (Old Jewish Quarter) and within a short walk of the Kazimerz Galleria Mall. It is on a main tram route to the centre and has good views of the castle, churches and the river. Reception staff were efficient, some a bit frosty, but others ready to help with directions, maps etc. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are modern, bright and well appointed, with a good size bathroom. Beds were really comfortable and we did not hewar a thing at night,so a good nights sleep was had. Breakfast was included in our package and was taken in the restaurant on the ground floor. This was tremendous value, with everything from bacon and eggs to cerals and fruit, continental with cheeses and hams and a large variety of breads and pastries.
Excellent quality and the staff were friendly too. We tried the leisure facilities on the 6th floor and there was a small, well appointed gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Spotlessly clean and with a nice decor. There are also panoramic views of the city from the pool. The Qubus is within a reasonable walking distance of the old town and you are able to book tours at the hotel, although we pre booked ours. All in all, a great value hotel, I would like to return to Krakow in the summer and would definately stay at the Qubus again.

We stayed for a three night weekend break in order to get a flavour of Krakow and in particular to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau. We had an en-suite twin-bedded room of average proportions only. There was adequate drawer & hanging space for a weekend stay & we appreciated the free room safe to deposit our spare cash/cards etc. The room had a small mini-bar but we were disappointed that there was no tea/coffee making facilities - room service was available & also a coffee shop on the ground floor but this was not quite the same as being able to make your own hot drink last thing at night or first thing in the morning. The room was quiet - we were not aware of any noise from other guests in the corridor and we overlooked a quiet tree-lined street from which we heard no traffic noise etc. Well-lined curtains kept the room dark at night and therefore we were not troubled by glare from street lights below. We were disappointed with the width of the duvets - they were mean - creating "gaps" when you turned over in bed during the night. Initially we were impressed with the cleanliness of our room and the whole hotel but the standards executed by our room maid deteriorated each day - eg spilled talcum powder not vacuumed from the carpet, surfaces not dusted thoroughly. The bathroom was always well cleaned. Towels were not of "top" quality & we exchanged them each day in the hope that the quality might improve. A generous supply of toiletries was provided initially but was not replenished. The dining room was well presented with immaculate table linen & well polished cutlery etc and all the dining staff were smart & tidy, attentive and professional. They possessed a good command of spoken English and making yourself understood was not a problem. The breakfast buffet was of very good standard with a wide selection of fresh fruits, pastries & croissants, savoury cheeses & meats etc but the hot buffet was a disappoinment to anyone who enjoys a "good full English" - offering on each of the days that we were there only scrambled egg, streaky bacon, chipolata sausages with onion and spicy baked beans. As a vegetarian the hot choice was even more limited with no mushrooms, hash browns or potato equivalent or cooked tomatoes. We had dinner in the hotel on two evenings - the price was comparable to what we would expect to pay for a good quality meal in the UK - and we were not disappointed. The cuisine was excellently prepared and presented. However, the "ambience" of the dining room was spoiled on both occasions by local businessmen/conference delegates/hotel business staff [who knows ?] who occupied tables - not for dining but for using laptops, spreading sheets of paper around and continually talking on mobile phones. We are both non-smokers & having got used to the smoking ban in public buildings in the UK since 2007 we quickly had to accept that this is not the case in Poland - smoking was permitted at all tables in the coffee shop but only in certain areas of the dining room in the evening but in no areas at breakfast. We used the swimming pool/sauna/steam room on one occasion. This was immaculately maintained & being at the top of the building offered wonderful views over the River Wisla to the city centre. The hotel offered a "mini-mall" which included a souvenier/gift shop where excursions could be booked. This was particularly convenient as we were only in Krakow for a weekend & did not want to waste time searching for excursion organisers & arranging itineraries - and booked all of our excursions [Auschwitz/City Tour/Salt Mines] via the gift shop agent with a hotel pick-up. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Qubus Hotel and should we decide to make a return visit to Krakow we would certainly consider staying at this hotel again. Our appraisal of the Qubus reflects our own background having worked in the hospitality industry running our own hotel for nearly twenty years.
