“Mini weekend in Krakow”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

We booked this weekend late and should have been at Hotel Columbus but it was full. The staff had arranged a transfer and alternative accommodation (plus a bottle of wine as an apology - thank you, Hotel Columbus). Hotel Qubus is modern, quiet, spacious, secure and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff, who all speak good conversational English. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive and varied (from smoked salmon to cereals). Hotel prices (based on 4.6 zlots to £) were reasonable. We ate in the hotel on our first night and had a drink at the bar most days. Take your swimming costume as the view from the pool is superb. Schindler's Factory is 10 minutes walk away. The choice of British TV channels was limited, but who goes on holiday to watch TV? If I go back to Krakow, I would stay in this hotel again.

One of the best hotels I’ve been in Europe… and the price is really competitive for what you get:

Room: Very clean, spacious, good amenities, safe box, small fridge, contemporary furniture, soft mattress and huge pillow, rooms on riverside offer stunning sunset views to Vistula River.

Breakfast: Excellent variety and quality of every single piece. From pastries to fruits, eggs in every form, sausages to cheeses, cereals to coffees, juices and several types of bread. You name it, they have it.

Location: Although looking at the map you may find it somehow detached from the city center, the location is great because it is:
- quiet
- convenient with transportation (3 mins walk to catch the No.50 or 24 tram, which takes no more than 10 min to reach the center or Galeria Krakowska (the big Mall); 5 mins walk to catch No.6 to Salwator; you can buy tickets from machines onboard with coins [no notes accepted]),
- great for walks or jogging by the beautiful riverside patio,
- close to the best museums (Schindler’s factory and MOCAK - 8 min walk),
- close to the mall (Galeria Kazimierz – 8 mins walk) where you can find supermarket, lunch/dinner options and other shopping
- close to Kazimierz, the heart of Krakow nightlife (10 mins walk). Unlike the rest of city center, this area is not so crowded with tourists (more like a students area); so you can really find good prices and quality of food and drink (the best tripadvisor restaurants lie in this area :-).

Facilities: Nothing is missing from this hotel. Wifi is free everywhere you can still use the Ethernet cable in your room (however it was disappointing that the connection -at least at my room on the 7th floor- could become really wonky from time to time, especially with high bandwidth apps like youtube, skype etc). You can rent a bike (29 PLN for 6 hrs) which is the best option to combine fitness and sightseeing (the city has a very good bike route network). The pool on the top floor is nice, the Jacuzzi even better (next to pool). There is also a very well organized gym, weightlifting benches and barbells, pulleys, cycling, and running. Everything you need to keep in shape in your business trip. All for free!

Room Tip: ask for 7th (last) floor river view room. I guess 6th would be also good.

Stayed 3 nights 7th floor room overlooking the river. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot and cold food. Made use of the hotels free boat for a short river trip but can just be used as a river taxi. Staff friendly and helpful

Room Tip: 7th floor river views are the best

During our trip through Europe we've visted the Qubus Hotel Krakow and stayed her for 4 nights. It was a very good choice. Since we visited this hotel by car it was great that we could park the car in the underground parking.

The reception was very helpfull and friendly during the complete stay.

The room was big, with a great view over the city. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was very nice and also very clean.

The breakfast was huge, with everything you could wish for and offered a great start of the day.

The location of the hotel was great, just on the borders of the old city, just a 25 minute walk to the center of the old city. A taxi is only €5 to the city center. The hotel also offers a free boat to the old city which we used one time, this was a great extra to go to the old city center.

The best thing of this hotel was the pool and jacuzzi on the top floor. It was very relaxing, decent size and it was great to watch over the city during a relaxing swim.

We would recommend this hotel to everyone who's planning to go to Krakow, you will not regret it !

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a high level floor with a view over the city, it offers a great view by night b...

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2013. The hotel is on the side of the river and appox 20 mins walk from the Main Square, the taxi ride back is appox £6 for 4 people (worth it when you've got aching feet!!!). The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a fantastic selection of food at breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small boat, leaves on the hour up to 5pm. You can do a round trip or get off at the Castle (which we did). Would recommend the free walking tour which starts in the Square and the electric car tours too. Plenty of restaurants on the Square to choose from. Would stay here again if we came back to Krakow.

Me and my girldriend stayed here for 3 nights and was amaising! We enjoyed every bit of our journey here in Krakow. The room is flowless, the hotel looks great, breakfast is perfect for me ( and I am very hard to please when it comes to food) and the view from the room was incredible! If you want to go to the main square you are 15 min walk or 2 min walk from the tram! I defenitly reccomand this hotel to anyone who comes to Krakow!

Me and my husband stayed at the Qubus hotel in Krakow for 3 nights in August 2013. We arrived early by train from Vienna and it was a good 30 minutes walk from the train station. The hotel is right by the river, just and approx. 15 minutes walk from the old town. The hotel is bright and modern with large rooms and bathroom. We had a nice room overlooking the river with wonderful views overlooking the river and the city! The breakfast was delicious with plenty of hot and cold alternatives (and I am a fussy eater!). We used their indoor pool and sauna as well which was nice and relaxing, maybe it could be opened a bit longer .The location is good although if you don't like walking it might be best taking a cab to and from the station and to the old town. We didn't eat in the hotel's restaurant but ate in the old town (would recommend a Georgian restaurant in the corner of the main square in the old town!). The hotels staff were ok, we only really spoke to them when we checked in and out. Qubus hotel Krakow is a good hotel and great value for money!

Room Tip: Try to egt a room on a higher floor overlooking the city and river
